Searchable Terms for FGF20 purchase    MBS927967 is a ready-to-use microwell, strip plate Quantitative Sandwich ELISA (enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay) Kit for analyzing the presence of the fibroblast growth factor 20 (FGF20) ELISA Kit target analytes in biological samples. The concentration gradients of the kit standards or positive controls render a theoretical kit detection range of 12.5 pg/ml -800 pg/ml in biological research samples containing FGF20, with an estimated sensitivity of 3.12 pg/ml. The ELISA analytical biochemical technique of the MBS927967 kit is based on FGF20 antibody-FGF20 antigen interactions (immunosorbency) and an HRP colorimetric detection system to detect FGF20 antigen targets in samples. The ELISA Kit is designed to detect native, not recombinant, FGF20. Appropriate sample types may include undiluted body fluids and/or tissue homogenates, secretions such as Serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell lysates. Quality control assays assessing reproducibility identified the intra-assay CV (%) and inter-assay CV(%).

Related Product Information for FGF20 elisa kit

Principle of the Assay: This assay employs the quantitative sandwich enzyme immunoassay technique. Antibody specific for FGF20 has been pre-coated onto a microplate. Standards and samples are pipetted into the wells and any FGF20 present is bound by the immobilized antibody. After removing any unbound substances, a biotin-conjugated antibody specific for FGF20 is added to the wells. After washing, avidin conjugated Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) is added to the wells. Following a wash to remove any unbound avidin-enzyme reagent, a substrate solution is added to the wells and color develops in proportion to the amount of FGF20 bound in the initial step. The color development is stopped and the intensity of the color is measured.

NCBI Summary for FGF20    The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the fibroblast growth factor family. The fibroblast growth factors possess broad mitogenic and cell survival activities, and are involved in a variety of biological processes including embryonic development, cell growth, morphogenesis, tissue repair, tumor growth and invasion. This gene product is a secreted neurotrophic factor but lacks a typical signal peptide. It is expressed in normal brain, particularly the cerebellum, and may regulate central nervous system development and function. Homodimerization of this protein was shown to regulate its receptor binding activity and concentration gradient in the extracellular matrix. Genetic variations of this gene have been associated with Parkinson disease susceptibility. [provided by RefSeq, Oct 2009]
