Searchable Terms for HIST1H2BC purchase    MBS9324014 is a ready-to-use microwell, strip plate ELISA (enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay) Kit for analyzing the presence of the histone cluster 1, H2bc (HIST1H2BC) ELISA Kit target analytes in biological samples. The concentration gradients of the kit standards or positive controls render a theoretical kit detection range in biological research samples containing HIST1H2BC. The ELISA analytical biochemical technique of the MBS9324014 kit is based on HIST1H2BC antibody-HIST1H2BC antigen interactions (immunosorbency) and an HRP colorimetric detection system to detect HIST1H2BC antigen targets in samples. The ELISA Kit is designed to detect native, not recombinant, HIST1H2BC. Appropriate sample types may include undiluted body fluids and/or tissue homogenates, secretions. Quality control assays assessing reproducibility identified the intra-assay CV (%) and inter-assay CV(%).

NCBI Summary for HIST1H2BC    Histones are basic nuclear proteins that are responsible for the nucleosome structure of the chromosomal fiber in eukaryotes. Nucleosomes consist of approximately 146 bp of DNA wrapped around a histone octamer composed of pairs of each of the four core histones (H2A, H2B, H3, and H4). The chromatin fiber is further compacted through the interaction of a linker histone, H1, with the DNA between the nucleosomes to form higher order chromatin structures. This gene is intronless and encodes a member of the histone H2B family. Transcripts from this gene lack polyA tails; instead, they contain a palindromic termination element. This gene is found in the large histone gene cluster on chromosome 6p22-p21.3. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

UniProt Comments for HIST1H2BC    H2B1C: a core component of the nucleoosome. The nucleosome, a basic organizational unit of chromosomal DNA, is octrameric, consisting of two molecules each of histones H2B, H2A, H3, H4. The octamer wraps approximately 147 bp of DNA. Nucleosomes wrap and compact DNA into chromatin, limiting DNA accessibility to the cellular machineries which require DNA as a template. Histones thereby play a central role in transcription regulation, DNA repair, DNA replication and chromosomal stability. DNA accessibility is regulated via a complex set of post-translational modifications of histones, also called histone code, and nucleosome remodeling.

Protein type: DNA-binding

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 6p22.1

Cellular Component: nucleoplasm; extracellular space; nucleosome; nucleus

Molecular Function: DNA binding; protein heterodimerization activity
