Certain products may require to ship with dry ice and additional dry ice fee may apply.
Searchable Terms for LTA purchase    MBS702774 is a ready-to-use microwell, strip plate Sandwich ELISA (enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay) Kit for analyzing the presence of the lymphotoxin alpha (TNF superfamily, member 1) (LTA) ELISA Kit target analytes in biological samples. The concentration gradients of the kit standards or positive controls render a theoretical kit detection range of 15.6 pg/ml-1000 pg/ml in biological research samples containing LTA, with an estimated sensitivity of 3.9 pg/ml. The ELISA analytical biochemical technique of the MBS702774 kit is based on LTA antibody-LTA antigen interactions (immunosorbency) and an HRP colorimetric detection system to detect LTA antigen targets in samples. The ELISA Kit is designed to detect native, not recombinant, LTA. Appropriate sample types may include undiluted body fluids and/or tissue homogenates, secretions such as Serum, plasma, cell culture supernates. Quality control assays assessing reproducibility identified the intra-assay CV (%) and inter-assay CV(%).

Related Product Information for LTA elisa kit

Principle of the Assay: This assay employs the quantitative sandwich enzyme immunoassay technique. Antibody specific for TNF-beta has been pre-coated onto a microplate. Standards and samples are pipetted into the wells and any TNF-beta present is bound by the immobilized antibody. After removing any unbound substances, a biotin-conjugated antibody specific for TNF-beta is added to the wells. After washing, avidin conjugated Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) is added to the wells. Following a wash to remove any unbound avidin-enzyme reagent, a substrate solution is added to the wells and color develops in proportion to the amount of TNF-beta bound in the initial step. The color development is stopped and the intensity of the color is measured.

NCBI Summary for LTA    The encoded protein, a member of the tumor necrosis factor family, is a cytokine produced by lymphocytes. The protein is highly inducible, secreted, and forms heterotrimers with lymphotoxin-beta which anchor lymphotoxin-alpha to the cell surface. This protein also mediates a large variety of inflammatory, immunostimulatory, and antiviral responses, is involved in the formation of secondary lymphoid organs during development and plays a role in apoptosis. Genetic variations in this gene are associated with susceptibility to leprosy type 4, myocardial infarction, non-Hodgkin's lymphoma, and psoriatic arthritis. Alternatively spliced transcript variants have been observed for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2012]

UniProt Comments for LTA    Function: Cytokine that in its homotrimeric form binds to TNFRSF1A/TNFR1, TNFRSF1B/TNFBR and TNFRSF14/HVEM. In its heterotrimeric form with LTB binds to TNFRSF3/LTBR. Lymphotoxin is produced by lymphocytes and cytotoxic for a wide range of tumor cells in vitro and in vivo.
