Specificity    This assay has high sensitivity and excellent specificity for detection of human MASP2. No significant cross-reactivity or interference between human MASP2 and analogues was observed.
Section Bar
Samples    Serum, plasma, cell culture supernates and cerebrospinal fluid (CSF)
 Assay Type    Sandwich
 Detection Range    23.44 pg/ml -1500 pg/ml.
Sensitivity    The minimum detectable dose of human MASP2 is typically less than 5.86 pg/ml. The sensitivity of this assay, or Lower Limit of Detection (LLD) was defined as the lowest protein concentration that could be differentiated from zero. It was determined the mean O.D value of 20 replicates of the zero standard added by their three standard deviations.
Intra-assay Precision    Intra-assay Precision (Precision within an assay): CV%<8%. Three samples of known concentration were tested twenty times on one plate to assess.
Inter-assay Precision    Inter-assay Precision (Precision between assays): CV%<10%. Three samples of known concentration were tested in twenty assays to assess.

Preparation and Storage    Unopened test kits should be stored at 2 to 8 degree C upon receipt. Please refer to pdf manual for further storage instructions.
ISO Certification    Manufactured in an ISO 9001:2008 Certified Laboratory.
Product Note    Our ELISA Kit assays are dynamic research tools and sometimes they may be updated and improved. If the format of this assay is important to you then please request the current manual or contact our technical support team with a presales inquiry before placing an order. We will confirm the current details of the assay. We cannot guarantee the sample manual posted online is the most current manual.
Other Notes    Small volumes of MASP2 elisa kit vial(s) may occasionally become entrapped in the seal of the product vial during shipment and storage. If necessary, briefly centrifuge the vial on a tabletop centrifuge to dislodge any liquid in the container`s cap. Certain products may require to ship with dry ice and additional dry ice fee may apply.
Searchable Terms for MASP2 purchase    MBS941977 is a ready-to-use microwell, strip plate Sandwich ELISA (enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay) Kit for analyzing the presence of the mannan-binding lectin serine peptidase 2 (MASP2) ELISA Kit target analytes in biological samples. The concentration gradients of the kit standards or positive controls render a theoretical kit detection range of 23.44 pg/ml -1500 pg/ml in biological research samples containing MASP2, with an estimated sensitivity of The minimum detectable dose of human MASP2 is typically less than 5.86 pg/ml. The sensitivity of this assay, or Lower Limit of Detection (LLD) was defined as the lowest protein concentration that could be differentiated from zero. It was determined the mean O.D value of 20 replicates of the zero standard added by their three standard deviations. The ELISA analytical biochemical technique of the MBS941977 kit is based on MASP2 antibody-MASP2 antigen interactions (immunosorbency) and an HRP colorimetric detection system to detect MASP2 antigen targets in samples. The ELISA Kit is designed to detect native, not recombinant, MASP2. Appropriate sample types may include undiluted body fluids and/or tissue homogenates, secretions such as Serum, plasma, cell culture supernates and cerebrospinal fluid (CSF). Quality control assays assessing reproducibility identified the intra-assay CV (%) and inter-assay CV(%).

Related Product Information for MASP2 elisa kit

Principle of the Assay: This assay employs the quantitative sandwich enzyme immunoassay technique. Antibody specific for MASP2 has been pre-coated onto a microplate. Standards and samples are pipetted into the wells and any MASP2 present is bound by the immobilized antibody. After removing any unbound substances, a biotin-conjugated antibody specific for MASP2 is added to the wells. After washing, avidin conjugated Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) is added to the wells. Following a wash to remove any unbound avidin-enzyme reagent, a substrate solution is added to the wells and color develops in proportion to the amount of MASP2 bound in the initial step. The color development is stopped and the intensity of the color is measured.

NCBI Summary for MASP2    The Ra-reactive factor (RARF) is a complement-dependent bactericidal factor that binds to the Ra and R2 polysaccharides expressed by certain enterobacteria. Alternate splicing of this gene results in two transcript variants encoding two RARF components that are involved in the mannan-binding lectin pathway of complement activation. The longer isoform is cleaved into two chains which form a heterodimer linked by a disulfide bond. The encoded proteins are members of the trypsin family of peptidases. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

UniProt Comments for MASP2    MASP2: Serum protease that plays an important role in the activation of the complement system via mannose-binding lectin. After activation by auto-catalytic cleavage it cleaves C2 and C4, leading to their activation and to the formation of C3 convertase. Defects in MASP2 are the cause of MASP2 deficiency (MASPD). MASPD is a disorder that results in autoimmune manifestations, recurrent severe infections, and chronic inflammatory disease. Belongs to the peptidase S1 family. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Research Articles on MASP2    1. Data indicate that MASP-1 and MASP-2 can readily form heterodimers after dissociation and re-association, however, in the presence of Ca(2+) exchange of subunits is slow between the homodimers.
