Searchable Terms for RGS18 purchase    MBS9324542 is a ready-to-use microwell, strip plate Quantitative Sandwich ELISA (enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay) Kit for analyzing the presence of the regulator of G-protein signaling 18 (RGS18) ELISA Kit target analytes in biological samples. The concentration gradients of the kit standards or positive controls render a theoretical kit detection range of 62.5 pg/ml - 2000 pg/mL in biological research samples containing RGS18, with an estimated sensitivity of 10 pg/mL. The ELISA analytical biochemical technique of the MBS9324542 kit is based on RGS18 antibody-RGS18 antigen interactions (immunosorbency) and an HRP colorimetric detection system to detect RGS18 antigen targets in samples. The ELISA Kit is designed to detect native, not recombinant, RGS18. Appropriate sample types may include undiluted body fluids and/or tissue homogenates, secretions such as undiluted original Human body fluids, tissue homogenates, secretions or feces samples. Quality control assays assessing reproducibility identified the intra-assay CV (%) and inter-assay CV(%).

NCBI Summary for RGS18    This gene encodes a member of the regulator of G-protein signaling family. This protein is contains a conserved, 120 amino acid motif called the RGS domain. The protein attenuates the signaling activity of G-proteins by binding to activated, GTP-bound G alpha subunits and acting as a GTPase activating protein (GAP), increasing the rate of conversion of the GTP to GDP. This hydrolysis allows the G alpha subunits to bind G beta/gamma subunit heterodimers, forming inactive G-protein heterotrimers, thereby terminating the signal. Alternate transcriptional splice variants of this gene have been observed but have not been thoroughly characterized. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
