Searchable Terms for SDCBP purchase    MBS9322938 is a ready-to-use microwell, strip plate Sandwich ELISA (enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay) Kit for analyzing the presence of the syndecan binding protein (syntenin) (SDCBP) ELISA Kit target analytes in biological samples. The concentration gradients of the kit standards or positive controls render a theoretical kit detection range of 3.12 ng/ml - 100 ng/ml in biological research samples containing SDCBP, with an estimated sensitivity of 1.0 ng/ml. The ELISA analytical biochemical technique of the MBS9322938 kit is based on SDCBP antibody-SDCBP antigen interactions (immunosorbency) and an HRP colorimetric detection system to detect SDCBP antigen targets in samples. The ELISA Kit is designed to detect native, not recombinant, SDCBP. Appropriate sample types may include undiluted body fluids and/or tissue homogenates, secretions such as Undiluted original Human body fluids, tissue homogenates, secretions or feces samples. This kit is NOT suitable for assaying non-biological sources of substances. Quality control assays assessing reproducibility identified the intra-assay CV (%) and inter-assay CV(%).

NCBI Summary for SDCBP    The protein encoded by this gene was initially identified as a molecule linking syndecan-mediated signaling to the cytoskeleton. The syntenin protein contains tandemly repeated PDZ domains that bind the cytoplasmic, C-terminal domains of a variety of transmembrane proteins. This protein may also affect cytoskeletal-membrane organization, cell adhesion, protein trafficking, and the activation of transcription factors. The protein is primarily localized to membrane-associated adherens junctions and focal adhesions but is also found at the endoplasmic reticulum and nucleus. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

UniProt Comments for SDCBP    syntenin: Seems to function as an adapter protein. In adherens junctions may function to couple syndecans to cytoskeletal proteins or signaling components. Seems to couple transcription factor SOX4 to the IL-5 receptor (IL5RA). May also play a role in vesicular trafficking. Seems to be required for the targeting of TGFA to the cell surface in the early secretory pathway. 3 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Protein type: Cytokine; Membrane protein, integral; Adaptor/scaffold; Motility/polarity/chemotaxis; Vesicle; Cell adhesion
