Searchable Terms for TGFBI purchase    MBS706163 is a ready-to-use microwell, strip plate Sandwich ELISA (enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay) Kit for analyzing the presence of the transforming growth factor, beta-induced, 68kDa (TGFBI) ELISA Kit target analytes in biological samples. The concentration gradients of the kit standards or positive controls render a theoretical kit detection range of 0.625 ng/ml-40 ng/ml in biological research samples containing TGFBI, with an estimated sensitivity of 0.156 ng/ml. The ELISA analytical biochemical technique of the MBS706163 kit is based on TGFBI antibody-TGFBI antigen interactions (immunosorbency) and an HRP colorimetric detection system to detect TGFBI antigen targets in samples. The ELISA Kit is designed to detect native, not recombinant, TGFBI. Appropriate sample types may include undiluted body fluids and/or tissue homogenates, secretions such as Serum, plasma, tissue homogenates. Quality control assays assessing reproducibility identified the intra-assay CV (%) and inter-assay CV(%).

Product Description specifically for TGFBI elisa kit

For Sample For the quantitative determination of human transforming growth factor-beta-induced protein ig-h3 (TGFBI/BIGH3) concentrations in serum, plasma.

PRINCIPLE OF THE ASSAY This assay employs the quantitative sandwich enzyme immunoassay technique. Antibody specific for TGFBI has been pre-coated onto a microplate. Standards and samples are pipetted into the wells and any TGFBI present is bound by the immobilized antibody. After removing any unbound substances, a biotin-conjugated antibody specific for TGFBI is added to the wells. After washing, avidin conjugated Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) is added to the wells. Following a wash to remove any unbound avidin-enzyme reagent, a substrate solution is added to the wells and color develops in proportion to the amount of TGFBI bound in the initial step. The color development is stopped and the intensity of the color is measured.

NCBI Summary for TGFBI    This gene encodes an RGD-containing protein that binds to type I, II and IV collagens. The RGD motif is found in many extracellular matrix proteins modulating cell adhesion and serves as a ligand recognition sequence for several integrins. This protein plays a role in cell-collagen interactions and may be involved in endochondrial bone formation in cartilage. The protein is induced by transforming growth factor-beta and acts to inhibit cell adhesion. Mutations in this gene are associated with multiple types of corneal dystrophy. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
Section Bar
UniProt Comments for TGFBI    Function: Binds to type I, II, and IV collagens. This adhesion protein may play an important role in cell-collagen interactions. In cartilage, may be involved in endochondral bone formation.
