Product Note    Our ELISA assays are dynamic research tools and sometimes they may be updated and improved. If the format of this assay is important to you then please request the current manual or contact our technical support team with a presales inquiry before placing an order. We will confirm the current details of the assay. We cannot guarantee the sample manual posted online is the most current manual.
Other Notes    Small volumes of CHRM2 elisa kit vial(s) may occasionally become entrapped in the seal of the product vial during shipment and storage. If necessary, briefly centrifuge the vial on a tabletop centrifuge to dislodge any liquid in the container`s cap. Certain products may require to ship with dry ice and additional dry ice fee may apply.
Searchable Terms for CHRM2 purchase    MBS016101 is a ready-to-use microwell, strip plate Sandwich ELISA (enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay) Kit for analyzing the presence of the M2-Cholinergic Receptor Antibodies (CHRM2) ELISA Kit target analytes in biological samples. The concentration gradients of the kit standards or positive controls render a theoretical kit detection range in biological research samples containing CHRM2. The ELISA analytical biochemical technique of the MBS016101 kit is based on CHRM2 antibody-CHRM2 antigen interactions (immunosorbency) and an HRP colorimetric detection system to detect CHRM2 antigen targets in samples. The ELISA Kit is designed to detect native, not recombinant, CHRM2. Appropriate sample types may include undiluted body fluids and/or tissue homogenates, secretions. Quality control assays assessing reproducibility identified the intra-assay CV (%) and inter-assay CV(%).

NCBI Summary for CHRM2    may inhibit cholinergic-mediated bronchoconstriction; may regulate bladder contraction [RGD, Feb 2006]
Section Bar
UniProt Comments for CHRM2    mAChR M2: The muscarinic acetylcholine receptor mediates various cellular responses, including inhibition of adenylate cyclase, breakdown of phosphoinositides and modulation of potassium channels through the action of G proteins. Primary transducing effect is adenylate cyclase inhibition. Genetic variations in CHRM2 can influence susceptibility to major depressive disorder (MDD). MDD is one of the most common psychiatric disorders. MDD is a complex trait characterized by one or more major depressive episodes without a history of manic, mixed, or hypomanic episodes. A major depressive episode is characterized by at least 2 weeks during which there is a new onset or clear worsening of either depressed mood or loss of interest or pleasure in nearly all activities. Four additional symptoms must also be present including changes in appetite, weight, sleep, and psychomotor activity; decreased energy; feelings of worthlessness or guilt; difficulty thinking, concentrating, or making decisions; or recurrent thoughts of death or suicidal ideation, plans, or attempts. The episode must be accompanied by distress or impairment in social, occupational, or other important areas of functioning. Belongs to the G-protein coupled receptor 1 family. Muscarinic acetylcholine receptor subfamily. CHRM2 sub-subfamily.

Protein type: Receptor, GPCR; Membrane protein, multi-pass; GPCR, family 1; Membrane protein, integral

Cellular Component: asymmetric synapse; postsynaptic membrane; cell soma; membrane; integral to plasma membrane; dendrite; plasma membrane; nerve terminal; cell junction

Molecular Function: drug binding; G-protein coupled acetylcholine receptor activity

Biological Process: regulation of smooth muscle contraction; synaptic transmission; elevation of cytosolic calcium ion concentration during G-protein signaling, coupled to IP3 second messenger (phospholipase C activating); acetylcholine receptor signaling, muscarinic pathway; response to virus; regulation of heart contraction
