Searchable Terms for MT1 purchase    MBS2510283 is a ready-to-use microwell, strip plate Sandwich ELISA (enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay) Kit for analyzing the presence of the MT1, ELISA Kit target analytes in biological samples. The concentration gradients of the kit standards or positive controls render a theoretical kit detection range of 31.25-2000pg/mL in biological research samples containing MT1, with an estimated sensitivity of The minimum detectable dose of Monkey MT1 is 18.75pg/mL (The sensitivity of this assay, or lowest detectable limit (LDL) was defined as the lowest protein concentration that could be differentiated from zero). The ELISA analytical biochemical technique of the MBS2510283 kit is based on MT1 antibody-MT1 antigen interactions (immunosorbency) and an HRP colorimetric detection system to detect MT1 antigen targets in samples. The ELISA Kit is designed to detect native, not recombinant, MT1. Appropriate sample types may include undiluted body fluids and/or tissue homogenates, secretions such as Serum, plasma and other biological fluids. Quality control assays assessing reproducibility identified the intra-assay CV (%) and inter-assay CV(%).

Product Description specifically for MT1 elisa kit

Principle of the assay: This ELISA kit uses Sandwich-ELISA as the method. The micro ELISA plate provided in this kit has been pre-coated with an antibody specific to MT1. Standards or samples are added to the appropriate micro ELISA plate wells and combined with the specific antibody. Then a biotinylated detection antibody specific for MT1 and Avidin-Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) conjugate is added to each micro plate well successively and incubated. Free components are washed away. The substrate solution is added to each well. Only those wells that contain MT1, biotinylated detection antibody and Avidin-HRP conjugate will appear blue in color. The enzyme-substrate reaction is terminated by the addition of a sulphuric acid solution and the color turns yellow. The optical density (OD) is measured spectrophotometrically at a wavelength of 450 nm +/- 2 nm. The OD value is proportional to the concentration of MT1. You can calculate the concentration of MT1 in the samples by comparing the OD of the samples to the standard curve.

NCBI Summary for MT1    This gene encodes one of two high affinity forms of a receptor for melatonin, the primary hormone secreted by the pineal gland. This receptor is a G-protein coupled, 7-transmembrane receptor that is responsible for melatonin effects on mammalian circadian rhythm and reproductive alterations affected by day length. The receptor is an integral membrane protein that is readily detectable and localized to two specific regions of the brain. The hypothalamic suprachiasmatic nucleus appears to be involved in circadian rhythm while the hypophysial pars tuberalis may be responsible for the reproductive effects of melatonin. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
Section Bar
UniProt Comments for MT1    MTNR1A: High affinity receptor for melatonin. Likely to mediates the reproductive and circadian actions of melatonin. The activity of this receptor is mediated by pertussis toxin sensitive G proteins that inhibit adenylate cyclase activity. Belongs to the G-protein coupled receptor 1 family.

Protein type: Receptor, GPCR; Membrane protein, integral; GPCR, family 1; Membrane protein, multi-pass; Motility/polarity/chemotaxis

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 4q35.1

Cellular Component: integral to plasma membrane; plasma membrane; receptor complex

Molecular Function: protein binding; hormone binding; melatonin receptor activity

Biological Process: circadian rhythm; G-protein signaling, coupled to cyclic nucleotide second messenger; positive regulation of cGMP biosynthetic process; mating behavior

Research Articles on MT1    1. Suggest that physiological regulation of the melatonin receptors may result from complex and subtle mechanisms, a small difference in affinity between the active and inactive states of the receptor, and spontaneous coupling to G-proteins.
