Specificity    This assay has high sensitivity and excellent specificity for detection of mouse KISS1. No significant cross-reactivity or interference between mouse KISS1 and analogues was observed.
Section Bar
Samples    Serum, plasma, cell culture supernates, tissue homogenates
 Assay Type    Sandwich
 Detection Range    12.5 pg/ml-800 pg/ml.
Sensitivity    The minimum detectable dose of mouse KISS1 is typically less than 3.125 pg/ml. The sensitivity of this assay, or Lower Limit of Detection (LLD) was defined as the lowest protein concentration that could be differentiated from zero. It was determined the mean O.D value of 20 replicates of the zero standard added by their three standard deviations.
Intra-assay Precision    Intra-assay Precision (Precision within an assay): CV%<8%. Three samples of known concentration were tested twenty times on one plate to assess.
Inter-assay Precision    Inter-assay Precision (Precision between assays): CV%<10%. Three samples of known concentration were tested in twenty assays to assess.

Preparation and Storage    Unopened test kits should be stored at 2 to 8 degree C upon receipt. Please refer to pdf manual for further storage instructions.
ISO Certification    Manufactured in an ISO 9001:2008 Certified Laboratory.
Product Note    Our ELISA Kit assays are dynamic research tools and sometimes they may be updated and improved. If the format of this assay is important to you then please request the current manual or contact our technical support team with a presales inquiry before placing an order. We will confirm the current details of the assay. We cannot guarantee the sample manual posted online is the most current manual.
Other Notes    Small volumes of KISS1 elisa kit vial(s) may occasionally become entrapped in the seal of the product vial during shipment and storage. If necessary, briefly centrifuge the vial on a tabletop centrifuge to dislodge any liquid in the container`s cap. Certain products may require to ship with dry ice and additional dry ice fee may apply.
Searchable Terms for KISS1 purchase    MBS916129 is a ready-to-use microwell, strip plate Sandwich ELISA (enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay) Kit for analyzing the presence of the KiSS-1 metastasis-suppressor (KISS1) ELISA Kit target analytes in biological samples. The concentration gradients of the kit standards or positive controls render a theoretical kit detection range of 12.5 pg/ml-800 pg/ml in biological research samples containing KISS1, with an estimated sensitivity of The minimum detectable dose of mouse KISS1 is typically less than 3.125 pg/ml. The sensitivity of this assay, or Lower Limit of Detection (LLD) was defined as the lowest protein concentration that could be differentiated from zero. It was determined the mean O.D value of 20 replicates of the zero standard added by their three standard deviations. The ELISA analytical biochemical technique of the MBS916129 kit is based on KISS1 antibody-KISS1 antigen interactions (immunosorbency) and an HRP colorimetric detection system to detect KISS1 antigen targets in samples. The ELISA Kit is designed to detect native, not recombinant, KISS1. Appropriate sample types may include undiluted body fluids and/or tissue homogenates, secretions such as Serum, plasma, cell culture supernates, tissue homogenates. Quality control assays assessing reproducibility identified the intra-assay CV (%) and inter-assay CV(%).

Related Product Information for KISS1 elisa kit

Priciple of the assay: This assay employs the quantitative sandwich enzyme immunoassay technique. Antibody specific for KISS1 has been pre-coated onto a microplate. Standards and samples are pipetted into the wells and any KISS1 present is bound by the immobilized antibody. After removing any unbound substances, a biotin-conjugated antibody specific for KISS1 is added to the wells. After washing, avidin conjugated Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) is added to the wells. Following a wash to remove any unbound avidin-enzyme reagent, a substrate solution is added to the wells and color develops in proportion to the amount of KISS1 bound in the initial step. The color development is stopped and the intensity of the color is measured.

UniProt Comments for KISS1    KiSS-1: Metastasis suppressor protein in malignant melanomas and in some breast cancers. May regulate events downstream of cell- matrix adhesion, perhaps involving cytoskeletal reorganization. Generates a C-terminally amidated peptide, metastin which functions as the endogenous ligand of the G-protein coupled receptor GPR54. Activation of the receptor inhibits cell proliferation and cell migration, key characteristics of tumor metastasis. Kp-10 is a decapeptide derived from the primary translation product, isolated in conditioned medium of first trimester trophoblast. Kp-10, but not other kisspeptins, increased intracellular Ca(2+) levels in isolated first trimester trophoblasts. Kp-10 is a paracrine/endocrine regulator in fine- tuning trophoblast invasion generated by the trophoblast itself. The receptor is also essential for normal gonadotropin-released hormone physiology and for puberty. The hypothalamic KiSS1/GPR54 system is a pivotal factor in central regulation of the gonadotropic axis at puberty and in adulthood. Belongs to the KISS1 family.

Protein type: Cell adhesion; Secreted; Secreted, signal peptide

Cellular Component: extracellular space; neuron projection; cell soma; apical plasma membrane; cytoplasm; cytosol

Molecular Function: protein binding; G-protein-coupled receptor binding; kisspeptin receptor binding

Biological Process: positive regulation of growth hormone secretion; generation of ovulation cycle rhythm; negative regulation of cell proliferation; G-protein coupled receptor protein signaling pathway; elevation of cytosolic calcium ion concentration during G-protein signaling, coupled to IP3 second messenger (phospholipase C activating); elevation of cytosolic calcium ion concentration; positive regulation of MAPKKK cascade; negative regulation of cell migration; positive regulation of synaptic transmission; positive regulation of luteinizing hormone secretion

Research Articles on KISS1    1. Sex differences in reproductive genes Kiss1, Gnrh1, and Gad1 are critically disturbed in GABAB1-deficient mice, probably altering the organization and development of neural circuits governing the reproductive axis.
