Searchable Terms for CCL2 purchase    MBS175778 is a ready-to-use microwell, strip plate Sandwich ELISA (enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay) Kit for analyzing the presence of the MCP-1 (CCL2) ELISA Kit target analytes in biological samples. The concentration gradients of the kit standards or positive controls render a theoretical kit detection range of 15.6pg/ml-1000pg/ml in biological research samples containing CCL2, with an estimated sensitivity of < 6pg/ml. The ELISA analytical biochemical technique of the MBS175778 kit is based on CCL2 antibody-CCL2 antigen interactions (immunosorbency) and an HRP colorimetric detection system to detect CCL2 antigen targets in samples. The ELISA Kit is designed to detect native, not recombinant, CCL2. Appropriate sample types may include undiluted body fluids and/or tissue homogenates, secretions such as Cell culture supernates and serum. Quality control assays assessing reproducibility identified the intra-assay CV (%) and inter-assay CV(%).

Related Product Information for CCL2 elisa kit

Principle of the assay: mouse MCP-1 ELISA Kit was based on standard sandwich enzyme-linked immune-sorbent assay technology. A monoclonal antibody from rat specific for MCP-1 has been precoated onto 96-well plates. Standards (E.coli,Q24-R96) and test samples are added to the wells, a biotinylated detection polyclonal antibody from goat specific for MCP-1 is added subsequently and then followed by washing with PBS or TBS buffer. Avidin-Biotin-Peroxidase Complex was added and unbound conjugates were washed away with PBS or TBS buffer. HRP substrate TMB was used to visualize HRP enzymatic reaction. TMB was catalyzed by HRP to produce a blue color product that changed into yellow after adding acidic stop solution. The density of yellow is proportional to the mouse MCP-1 amount of sample captured in plate.
Background: Monocyte chemoattractant protein-1 (MCP-1), a member of the chemokine (chemotactic cytokine) family, is a potent monocyte agonist that is upregulated by oxidized lipids.1 MCP-1 is also known as CCL2, SCYA2, MCAF.MCAF is a member of family of factors involved in immune and inflammatory responses. The amino acid sequence deduced from the nucleotide sequence reveals the primary structure of the MCAF precursor to be composed of a putative signal peptide sequence of 23 amino acid residues and a mature MCAF sequence of 76 amino acid residues.2 MCP-1 plays a unique and crucial role in the initiation of atherosclerosis and may provide a newtherapeutic target in this disorder.3

NCBI Summary for CCL2    This gene is one of several cytokine genes clustered on chromosome 11. Chemokines are a superfamily of secreted proteins involved in immunoregulatory and inflammatory processes. The superfamily is divided into four subfamilies based on the arrangement of N-terminal cysteine residues of the mature peptide. This chemokine is a member of the CC subfamily which is characterized by two adjacent cysteine residues. This cytokine displays chemotactic activity for monocytes and memory T cells but not for neutrophils. The human ortholog has been implicated in the pathogenesis of diseases characterized by monocytic infiltrates, such as psoriasis, rheumatoid arthritis, and atherosclerosis. [provided by RefSeq, Sep 2015]

UniProt Comments for CCL2    CCL13: Chemotactic factor that attracts monocytes, lymphocytes, basophils and eosinophils, but not neutrophils. Signals through CCR2B and CCR3 receptors. Plays a role in the accumulation of leukocytes at both sides of allergic and non-allergic inflammation. May be involved in the recruitment of monocytes into the arterial wall during the disease process of atherosclerosis. May play a role in the monocyte attraction in tissues chronically exposed to exogenous pathogens. By IL1/interleukin-1 and TNF. Widely expressed. Found in small intestine, thymus, colon, lung, trachea, stomach and lymph node. Low levels seen in the pulmonary artery smooth muscle cells. Belongs to the intercrine beta (chemokine CC) family.
