Searchable Terms for SERPINF1 purchase    MBS412006 is a ready-to-use microwell, strip-or-full plate ELISA (enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay) Kit for analyzing the presence of the PEDF (SERPINF1) ELISA Kit target analytes in biological samples. The concentration gradients of the kit standards or positive controls render a theoretical kit detection range in biological research samples containing SERPINF1. The ELISA analytical biochemical technique of the MBS412006 kit is based on SERPINF1 antibody-SERPINF1 antigen interactions (immunosorbency) and an HRP colorimetric detection system to detect SERPINF1 antigen targets in samples. The ELISA Kit is designed to detect native, not recombinant, SERPINF1. Appropriate sample types may include undiluted body fluids and/or tissue homogenates, secretions. Quality control assays assessing reproducibility identified the intra-assay CV (%) and inter-assay CV(%).

Related Product Information for SERPINF1 elisa kit

Principle of the Assay||Microwells are coated with a polyclonal antibody specific for fulllength recombinant mouse PEDF antigen. The PEDF antigen present in the specimen is specifically captured onto the immobilized antibody during specimen incubation. The captured antigen is then detected with a high-titer polyclonal anti-PEDF antibody conjugated to biotin. Following subsequent incubation with streptavidin peroxidase, the bound enzyme reacts with a substrate to yield a colored product. The resultant optical density is proportional to the amount of PEDF antigen present in the specimen.

NCBI Summary for SERPINF1    The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the serpin family, although it does not display the serine protease inhibitory activity shown by many of the other serpin family members. The encoded protein is secreted and strongly inhibits angiogenesis. In addition, this protein is a neurotrophic factor involved in neuronal differentiation in retinoblastoma cells.[provided by RefSeq, Mar 2011]
Section Bar
UniProt Comments for SERPINF1    PEDF: a secreted neurotrophic protein that induces extensive neuronal differentiation in retinoblastoma cells. Potent inhibitor of angiogenesis. As it does not undergo the S (stressed) to R (relaxed) conformational transition characteristic of active serpins, it exhibits no serine protease inhibitory activity. The N-terminal (AA 44-121) exhibits neurite outgrowth-inducing activity. The C-terminal exposed loop (AA 382-418) is essential for serpin activity. Extracellular phosphorylation enhances antiangiogenic activity.
