Samples    Serum, plasma and tissue homogenates.
 Assay Type    Sandwich
 Detection Range    15.6 pg/ml -1000 pg/ml.
Sensitivity    The minimum detectable dose of mouse renin is typically less than 3.9 pg/ml.The sensitivity of this assay, or Lower Limit of Detection (LLD) was defined as the lowest protein concentration that could be differentiated from zero. It was determined the mean O.D value of 20 replicates of the zero standard added by their three standard deviations.
Intra-assay Precision    Intra-assay Precision (Precision within an assay): CV%<8%. Three samples of known concentration were tested twenty times on one plate to assess.
Inter-assay Precision    Inter-assay Precision (Precision between assays): CV%<10%. Three samples of known concentration were tested in twenty assays to assess.

Product Note    Our ELISA Kit assays are dynamic research tools and sometimes they may be updated and improved. If the format of this assay is important to you then please request the current manual or contact our technical support team with a presales inquiry before placing an order. We will confirm the current details of the assay. We cannot guarantee the sample manual posted online is the most current manual.
Other Notes    Small volumes of Renin elisa kit vial(s) may occasionally become entrapped in the seal of the product vial during shipment and storage. If necessary, briefly centrifuge the vial on a tabletop centrifuge to dislodge any liquid in the container`s cap. Certain products may require to ship with dry ice and additional dry ice fee may apply.
Searchable Terms for Renin purchase    MBS702772 is a ready-to-use microwell, strip plate Sandwich ELISA (enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay) Kit for analyzing the presence of the Renin, ELISA Kit target analytes in biological samples. The concentration gradients of the kit standards or positive controls render a theoretical kit detection range of 15.6 pg/ml -1000 pg/ml in biological research samples containing Renin, with an estimated sensitivity of The minimum detectable dose of mouse renin is typically less than 3.9 pg/ml.The sensitivity of this assay, or Lower Limit of Detection (LLD) was defined as the lowest protein concentration that could be differentiated from zero. It was determined the mean O.D value of 20 replicates of the zero standard added by their three standard deviations. The ELISA analytical biochemical technique of the MBS702772 kit is based on Renin antibody-Renin antigen interactions (immunosorbency) and an HRP colorimetric detection system to detect Renin antigen targets in samples. The ELISA Kit is designed to detect native, not recombinant, Renin. Appropriate sample types may include undiluted body fluids and/or tissue homogenates, secretions such as Serum, plasma and tissue homogenates. Quality control assays assessing reproducibility identified the intra-assay CV (%) and inter-assay CV(%).

Product Description specifically for Renin elisa kit

Principle of the Assay: This assay employs the quantitative sandwich enzyme immunoassay technique. Antibody specific for renin has been pre-coated onto a microplate. Standards and samples are pipetted into the wells and any renin present is bound by the immobilized antibody. After removing any unbound substances, a biotin-conjugated antibody specific for renin is added to the wells. After washing, avidin conjugated Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) is added to the wells. Following a wash to remove any unbound avidin-enzyme reagent, a substrate solution is added to the wells and color develops in proportion to the amount of renin bound in the initial step. The color development is stopped and the intensity of the color is measured.

NCBI Summary for Renin    Renin catalyzes the first step in the activation pathway of angiotensinogen--a cascade that can result in aldosterone release, vasoconstriction, and increase in blood pressure. Renin, an aspartyl protease, cleaves angiotensinogen to form angiotensin I, which is converted to angiotensin II by angiotensin I converting enzyme, an important regulator of blood pressure and electrolyte balance. Transcript variants that encode different protein isoforms and that arise from alternative splicing and the use of alternative promoters have been described, but their full-length nature has not been determined. Mutations in this gene have been shown to cause familial hyperproreninemia. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
Section Bar
UniProt Comments for Renin    Function: Renin is a highly specific endopeptidase, whose only known function is to generate angiotensin I from angiotensinogen in the plasma, initiating a cascade of reactions that produce an elevation of blood pressure and increased sodium retention by the kidney.

Catalytic activity: Cleavage of Leu-|-Xaa bond in angiotensinogen to generate angiotensin I.

Enzyme regulation: Interaction with ATP6AP2 results in a 5-fold increased efficiency in angiotensinogen processing.
