Other Notes    Small volumes of S1P elisa kit vial(s) may occasionally become entrapped in the seal of the product vial during shipment and storage. If necessary, briefly centrifuge the vial on a tabletop centrifuge to dislodge any liquid in the container`s cap. Certain products may require to ship with dry ice and additional dry ice fee may apply.
Searchable Terms for S1P purchase    MBS094198 is a ready-to-use microwell, strip plate Quantitative Sandwich ELISA (enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay) Kit for analyzing the presence of the Sphingosine 1 Phosphate (S1P) ELISA Kit target analytes in biological samples. The concentration gradients of the kit standards or positive controls render a theoretical kit detection range of 62.5 nmol/L - 2000 nmol/L in biological research samples containing S1P, with an estimated sensitivity of 10 nmol/L. The ELISA analytical biochemical technique of the MBS094198 kit is based on S1P antibody-S1P antigen interactions (immunosorbency) and an HRP colorimetric detection system to detect S1P antigen targets in samples. The ELISA Kit is designed to detect native, not recombinant, S1P. Appropriate sample types may include undiluted body fluids and/or tissue homogenates, secretions such as Body fluids, tissue homogenates, secretions or feces samples. Quality control assays assessing reproducibility identified the intra-assay CV (%) and inter-assay CV(%).

Product Description specifically for S1P elisa kit

Background/Introduction: This Quantitative Sandwich ELISA kit is only for in vitro research use only, not for drug, household, therapeutic or diagnostic applications! This kit is intended to be used for determination the level of S1P (hereafter termed "analyte") in undiluted original Mouse body fluids, tissue homogenates, secretions or feces samples. This kit is NOT suitable for assaying non-biological sources of substances.

NCBI Summary for S1P    The protein encoded by this gene is structurally similar to G protein-coupled receptors and is highly expressed in endothelial cells. It binds the ligand sphingosine-1-phosphate with high affinity and high specificity, and suggested to be involved in the processes that regulate the differentiation of endothelial cells. Activation of this receptor induces cell-cell adhesion. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

UniProt Comments for S1P    EDG-1: a G protein-coupled receptor for the lysosphingolipid sphingosine 1-phosphate (S1P). S1P is a bioactive lysophospholipid that elicits diverse physiological effect on most types of cells and tissues. Highly expressed in endothelial cells and to a lesser extent, in vascular smooth muscle cells, fibroblasts, melanocytes, and cells of epithelioid origin. Suggested to be involved in the processes that regulate the migration/differentiation of endothelial cells. Activation of this receptor induces cell-cell adhesion. S1P-induced endothelial cell migration requires AKT1-mediated phosphorylation of the third intracellular loop. Seems to be coupled to the G(i) subclass of heteromeric G proteins.

Protein type: Receptor, GPCR; Membrane protein, multi-pass; Membrane protein, integral; GPCR, family 1

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 1p21
