Certain products may require to ship with dry ice and additional dry ice fee may apply.
Searchable Terms for TRAIL-R3 purchase    MBS2510652 is a ready-to-use microwell, strip plate Quantitative Sandwich ELISA (enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay) Kit for analyzing the presence of the TRAIL R3 (TRAIL-R3) ELISA Kit target analytes in biological samples. The concentration gradients of the kit standards or positive controls render a theoretical kit detection range of 0.156-10ng/mL in biological research samples containing TRAIL-R3, with an estimated sensitivity of 0.094ng/mL. The ELISA analytical biochemical technique of the MBS2510652 kit is based on TRAIL-R3 antibody-TRAIL-R3 antigen interactions (immunosorbency) and an HRP colorimetric detection system to detect TRAIL-R3 antigen targets in samples. The ELISA Kit is designed to detect native, not recombinant, TRAIL-R3. Appropriate sample types may include undiluted body fluids and/or tissue homogenates, secretions such as Serum, plasma and other biological fluids. Quality control assays assessing reproducibility identified the intra-assay CV (%) and inter-assay CV(%).

Product Description specifically for TRAIL-R3 elisa kit

Intended Uses: This ELISA kit applies to the in vitro quantitative determination of Mouse TRAIL-R3 concentrations in serum, plasma and other biological fluids.

Principle of the Assay: This ELISA kit uses Sandwich-ELISA as the method. The micro ELISA plate provided in this kit has been pre-coated with an antibody specific to TRAIL-R3. Standards or samples are added to the appropriate micro ELISA plate wells and combined with the specific antibody. Then a biotinylated detection antibody specific for TRAIL-R3 and Avidin-Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) conjugate is added to each micro plate well successively and incubated. Free components are washed away. The substrate solution is added to each well. Only those wells that contain TRAIL-R3, biotinylated detection antibody and Avidin-HRP conjugate will appear blue in color. The enzyme-substrate reaction is terminated by the addition of a sulphuric acid solution and the color turns yellow. The optical density (OD) is measured spectrophotometrically at a wavelength of 450 nm +/- 2 nm. The OD value is proportional to the concentration of TRAIL-R3. You can calculate the concentration of TRAIL-R3 in the samples by comparing the OD of the samples to the standard curve.

NCBI Summary for TRAIL-R3    The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the TNF-receptor superfamily. This receptor contains an extracellular TRAIL-binding domain and a transmembrane domain, but no cytoplasmic death domain. This receptor is not capable of inducing apoptosis, and is thought to function as an antagonistic receptor that protects cells from TRAIL-induced apoptosis. This gene was found to be a p53-regulated DNA damage-inducible gene. The expression of this gene was detected in many normal tissues but not in most cancer cell lines, which may explain the specific sensitivity of cancer cells to the apoptosis-inducing activity of TRAIL. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

UniProt Comments for TRAIL-R3    TRAIL-R3: Receptor for the cytotoxic ligand TRAIL. Lacks a cytoplasmic death domain and hence is not capable of inducing apoptosis. May protect cells against TRAIL mediated apoptosis by competing with TRAIL-R1 and R2 for binding to the ligand. Higher expression in normal tissues than in tumor cell lines. Highly expressed in peripheral blood lymphocytes, spleen, skeletal muscle, placenta, lung and heart.

Protein type: Membrane protein, GPI anchor

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 8p22-p21

Cellular Component: integral to plasma membrane

Molecular Function: transmembrane receptor activity; TRAIL binding

Biological Process: apoptosis; signal transduction

Research Articles on TRAIL-R3    1. The membrane expression of the TRAIL receptors DR4, DR5, DcR1 and DcR2 is greater in normal endometrium than endometrioid adenocarcinoma (EAC). The level of the receptors in EAC is not dependent on grading and staging and does not predict survival.
