Other Notes    Small volumes of IL5 elisa kit vial(s) may occasionally become entrapped in the seal of the product vial during shipment and storage. If necessary, briefly centrifuge the vial on a tabletop centrifuge to dislodge any liquid in the container`s cap. Certain products may require to ship with dry ice and additional dry ice fee may apply.
Searchable Terms for IL5 purchase    MBS284607 is a ready-to-use microwell, strip plate Sandwich ELISA (enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay) Kit for analyzing the presence of the Interleukin-5 (IL5) ELISA Kit target analytes in biological samples. The concentration gradients of the kit standards or positive controls render a theoretical kit detection range in biological research samples containing IL5. The ELISA analytical biochemical technique of the MBS284607 kit is based on IL5 antibody-IL5 antigen interactions (immunosorbency) and an HRP colorimetric detection system to detect IL5 antigen targets in samples. The ELISA Kit is designed to detect native, not recombinant, IL5. Appropriate sample types may include undiluted body fluids and/or tissue homogenates, secretions such as Serum, Plasma, Other biological fluids. Quality control assays assessing reproducibility identified the intra-assay CV (%) and inter-assay CV(%).

Related Product Information for IL5 elisa kit

Principle of the Assay: This assay employs a two-site sandwich ELISA to quantitate IL5 in samples. An antibody specific for IL5 has been pre-coated onto a microplate. Standards and samples are pipetted into the wells and anyIL5 present is bound by the immobilized antibody. After removing any unbound substances, a biotin-conjugated antibody specific for IL5 is added to the wells. After washing, Streptavidin conjugated Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) is added to the wells. Following a wash to remove any unbound avidin-enzyme reagent, a substrate solution is added to the wells and color develops in proportion to the amount of IL5 bound in the initial step. The color development is stopped and the intensity of the color is measured.

NCBI Summary for IL5    This gene encodes a cytokine that acts as a growth and differentiation factor for both B cells and eosinophils. The encoded cytokine plays a major role in the regulation of eosinophil formation, maturation, recruitment and survival. The increased production of this cytokine may be related to pathogenesis of eosinophil-dependent inflammatory diseases. This cytokine functions by binding to its receptor, which is a heterodimer, whose beta subunit is shared with the receptors for interleukine 3 (IL3) and colony stimulating factor 2 (CSF2/GM-CSF). This gene is located on chromosome 5 within a cytokine gene cluster which includes interleukin 4 (IL4), interleukin 13 (IL13), and CSF2 . This gene, IL4, and IL13 may be regulated coordinately by long-range regulatory elements spread over 120 kilobases on chromosome 5q31. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2013]
