Searchable Terms for LP-A purchase    MBS020797 is a ready-to-use microwell, strip plate Sandwich ELISA (enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay) Kit for analyzing the presence of the Lipoprotein A (LP-A) ELISA Kit target analytes in biological samples. The concentration gradients of the kit standards or positive controls render a theoretical kit detection range of 15.6 ug/ml - 500 ug/ml in biological research samples containing LP-A, with an estimated sensitivity of 2.0 ug/ml. The ELISA analytical biochemical technique of the MBS020797 kit is based on LP-A antibody-LP-A antigen interactions (immunosorbency) and an HRP colorimetric detection system to detect LP-A antigen targets in samples. The ELISA Kit is designed to detect native, not recombinant, LP-A. Appropriate sample types may include undiluted body fluids and/or tissue homogenates, secretions such as Rabbit body fluids, tissue homogenates, secretions or feces samples. This kit is NOT suitable for assaying non-biological sources of substances. Quality control assays assessing reproducibility identified the intra-assay CV (%) and inter-assay CV(%).

NCBI Summary for LP-A    The protein encoded by this gene is a serine proteinase that inhibits the activity of tissue-type plasminogen activator I. The encoded protein constitutes a substantial portion of lipoprotein(a) and is proteolytically cleaved, resulting in fragments that attach to atherosclerotic lesions and promote thrombogenesis. Elevated plasma levels of this protein are linked to atherosclerosis. Depending on the individual, the encoded protein contains 2-43 copies of kringle-type domains. The allele represented here contains 15 copies of the kringle-type repeats and corresponds to that found in the reference genome sequence. [provided by RefSeq, Dec 2009]
