Other Notes    Small volumes of NUP50 elisa kit vial(s) may occasionally become entrapped in the seal of the product vial during shipment and storage. If necessary, briefly centrifuge the vial on a tabletop centrifuge to dislodge any liquid in the container`s cap. Certain products may require to ship with dry ice and additional dry ice fee may apply.
Searchable Terms for NUP50 purchase    MBS016855 is a ready-to-use microwell, strip-or-full plate Sandwich ELISA (enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay) Kit for analyzing the presence of the Nucleoporin 50Kda (NUP50) ELISA Kit target analytes in biological samples. The concentration gradients of the kit standards or positive controls render a theoretical kit detection range in biological research samples containing NUP50. The ELISA analytical biochemical technique of the MBS016855 kit is based on NUP50 antibody-NUP50 antigen interactions (immunosorbency) and an HRP colorimetric detection system to detect NUP50 antigen targets in samples. The ELISA Kit is designed to detect native, not recombinant, NUP50. Appropriate sample types may include undiluted body fluids and/or tissue homogenates, secretions. Quality control assays assessing reproducibility identified the intra-assay CV (%) and inter-assay CV(%).

NCBI Summary for NUP50    The nuclear pore complex is a massive structure that extends across the nuclear envelope, forming a gateway that regulates the flow of macromolecules between the nucleus and the cytoplasm. Nucleoporins are the main components of the nuclear pore complex in eukaryotic cells. The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the FG-repeat containing nucleoporins that functions as a soluble cofactor in importin-alpha:beta-mediated nuclear protein import. Pseudogenes of this gene are found on chromosomes 5, 6, and 14. Two transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

UniProt Comments for NUP50    NUP50: Component of the nuclear pore complex that has a direct role in nuclear protein import. Actively displaces NLSs from importin-alpha, and facilitates disassembly of the importin- alpha:beta-cargo complex and importin recycling. Interacts with multiple transport receptor proteins including CDKN1B. This interaction is required for correct intracellular transport and degradation of CDKN1B. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Protein type: Nuclear import; Nucleoporin

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 22q13.31

Cellular Component: nucleoplasm; nuclear membrane; cytoplasm; nuclear pore

Molecular Function: protein binding

Biological Process: mRNA transport; viral reproduction; cytokine and chemokine mediated signaling pathway; mitotic nuclear envelope disassembly; pathogenesis; glucose transport; viral infectious cycle; protein transport; intracellular transport; hexose transport; carbohydrate metabolic process; viral transcription; gene expression; mitotic cell cycle; transmembrane transport
