Searchable Terms for ADIPOQ purchase    MBS8244709 is a ready-to-use microwell, strip-or-full plate Quantitative Sandwich ELISA (enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay) Kit for analyzing the presence of the Adiponectin (ADIPOQ) ELISA Kit target analytes in biological samples. The concentration gradients of the kit standards or positive controls render a theoretical kit detection range in biological research samples containing ADIPOQ, with an estimated sensitivity of <10 pg/ml. The ELISA analytical biochemical technique of the MBS8244709 kit is based on ADIPOQ antibody-ADIPOQ antigen interactions (immunosorbency) and an HRP colorimetric detection system to detect ADIPOQ antigen targets in samples. The ELISA Kit is designed to detect native, not recombinant, ADIPOQ. Appropriate sample types may include undiluted body fluids and/or tissue homogenates, secretions such as Cell Culture Supernatants, Serum, Plasma, Tissue Homogenates, Urine. Quality control assays assessing reproducibility identified the intra-assay CV (%) and inter-assay CV(%).

Related Product Information for ADIPOQ elisa kit

Principle of the Assay: MBS Rat Adiponectin ELISA (Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay) kit is an in vitro enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay for the quantitative measurement of Rat Adiponectin in Cell Culture Supernatants, Serum, Plasma, Tissue Homogenates, Urine. This assay employs an antibody specific for Rat Adiponectin coated on a 96-well plate. Standards and samples are pipetted into the wells and Adiponectin present in a sample is bound to the wells by the immobilized antibody. The wells are washed and biotinylated anti-Rat Adiponectin antibody is added. After washing away unbound biotinylated antibody, HRP-conjugated streptavidin is pipetted to the wells. The wells are again washed, a TMB substrate solution is added to the wells and color develops in proportion to the amount of Adiponectin bound. The Stop Solution changes the color from blue to yellow, and the intensity of the color is measured at 450 nm.

Background: Adiponectin (ADPN) is a hormone secreted by adipocytes that regulates energy homeostasis and glucose and lipid metabolism. Adiponectin is a new member of the family of soluble defense collagens, in hematopoiesis and immune responses. It is an important negative regulator in hematopoiesis and immune systems and raise the possibility that it may be involved in ending inflammatory responses through its inhibitory functions. Adiponectin is mapped to 3q27 and can protect the organism from systemic inflammation by promoting the clearance of early apoptotic cells by macrophages through a receptor-dependent pathway involving calreticulin.

UniProt Comments for ADIPOQ    adiponectin: Important adipokine involved in the control of fat metabolism and insulin sensitivity, with direct anti-diabetic, anti-atherogenic and anti-inflammatory activities. Stimulates AMPK phosphorylation and activation in the liver and the skeletal muscle, enhancing glucose utilization and fatty-acid combustion. Antagonizes TNF-alpha by negatively regulating its expression in various tissues such as liver and macrophages, and also by counteracting its effects. Inhibits endothelial NF-kappa-B signaling through a cAMP-dependent pathway. May play a role in cell growth, angiogenesis and tissue remodeling by binding and sequestering various growth factors with distinct binding affinities, depending on the type of complex, LMW, MMW or HMW. Homomultimer. Forms trimers, hexamers and 12- to 18-mers. The trimers (low molecular weight complexes / LMW) are assembled via non-covalent interactions of the collagen-like domains in a triple helix and hydrophobic interactions within the globular C1q domain. Several trimers can associate to form disulfide-linked hexamers (middle molecular weight complexes / MMW) and larger complexes (higher molecular weight / HMW). The HMW-complex assembly may rely aditionally on lysine hydroxylation and glycosylation. LMW, MMW and HMW complexes bind to HBEGF, MMW and HMW complexes bind to PDGFB, and HMW complex binds to FGF2. Interacts with CTRP9A via the C1q domain (heterotrimeric complex). Synthesized exclusively by adipocytes and secreted into plasma.
