Specificity    This assay has high sensitivity and excellent specificity for detection of Rat C9. No significant cross-reactivity or interference between Rat C9 and analogues was observed. Note: Limited by current skills and knowledge, it is impossible for us to complete the cross- reactivity detection between Rat C9 and all the analogues, therefore, cross reaction may still exist.

Other Notes    Small volumes of C9 elisa kit vial(s) may occasionally become entrapped in the seal of the product vial during shipment and storage. If necessary, briefly centrifuge the vial on a tabletop centrifuge to dislodge any liquid in the container`s cap. Certain products may require to ship with dry ice and additional dry ice fee may apply.
Searchable Terms for C9 purchase    MBS2508328 is a ready-to-use microwell, strip plate Sandwich ELISA (enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay) Kit for analyzing the presence of the C9, ELISA Kit target analytes in biological samples. The concentration gradients of the kit standards or positive controls render a theoretical kit detection range of 9.375-600ng/mL in biological research samples containing C9, with an estimated sensitivity of Min: 5.625ng/mL; Max: 600ng/mL. The ELISA analytical biochemical technique of the MBS2508328 kit is based on C9 antibody-C9 antigen interactions (immunosorbency) and an HRP colorimetric detection system to detect C9 antigen targets in samples. The ELISA Kit is designed to detect native, not recombinant, C9. Appropriate sample types may include undiluted body fluids and/or tissue homogenates, secretions such as Serum, Plasma, Biological Fluids. Quality control assays assessing reproducibility identified the intra-assay CV (%) and inter-assay CV(%).

Related Product Information for C9 elisa kit

Description: The kit is a sandwich enzyme immunoassay for in vitro quantitative measurement of C9 in Rat serum, plasma and other biological fluids
Principle of the Assay: This ELISA kit uses Sandwich-ELISA as the method. The micro ELISA plate provided in this kit has been pre-coated with an antibody specific to Rat C9. Standards or samples are added to the appropriate micro ELISA plate wells and bound by the specific antibody. Then a biotinylated detection antibody specific for Rat C9 and Avidin-Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) conjugate is added to each micro plate well successively and incubated. Free components are washed away. The substrate solution is added to each well. Only those wells that contain Rat C9, biotinylated detection antibody and Avidin-HRP conjugate will appear blue in color. The enzyme-substrate reaction is terminated by the addition of a sulphuric acid solution and the color turns yellow. The optical density (OD) is measured spectrophotometrically at a wavelength of 450 nm +/- 2 nm. The OD value is proportional to the concentration of Rat C9. You can calculate the concentration of Rat C9 in the samples by comparing the OD of the samples to the standard curve.

NCBI Summary for C9    This gene encodes the final component of the complement system. It participates in the formation of the Membrane Attack Complex (MAC). The MAC assembles on bacterial membranes to form a pore, permitting disruption of bacterial membrane organization. Mutations in this gene cause component C9 deficiency. [provided by RefSeq, Feb 2009]
Section Bar
UniProt Comments for C9    C9: Constituent of the membrane attack complex (MAC) that plays a key role in the innate and adaptive immune response by forming pores in the plasma membrane of target cells. C9 is the pore-forming subunit of the MAC. Defects in C9 are a cause of complement component 9 deficiency (C9D). A rare defect of the complement classical pathway associated with susceptibility to severe recurrent infections, predominantly by Neisseria gonorrhoeae or Neisseria meningitidis. Belongs to the complement C6/C7/C8/C9 family.

Protein type: Membrane protein, multi-pass; Extracellular matrix; Membrane protein, integral; Apoptosis

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 5p14-p12

Cellular Component: membrane attack complex; integral to plasma membrane; cytoplasm; plasma membrane; extracellular region

Biological Process: complement activation, alternative pathway; regulation of complement activation; innate immune response; hemolysis by symbiont of host red blood cells; complement activation, classical pathway

Disease: Macular Degeneration, Age-related, 15; Complement Component 9 Deficiency
