 Searchable Terms for EAAT2 purchase    MBS2020019 is a ready-to-use microwell, strip plate Double-antibody Sandwich ELISA (enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay) Kit for analyzing the presence of the Excitatory Amino Acid Transporter 2 (EAAT2) ELISA Kit target analytes in biological samples. The concentration gradients of the kit standards or positive controls render a theoretical kit detection range of 0.156-10ng/mL in biological research samples containing EAAT2, with an estimated sensitivity of < 0.057ng/mL. The ELISA analytical biochemical technique of the MBS2020019 kit is based on EAAT2 antibody-EAAT2 antigen interactions (immunosorbency) and an HRP colorimetric detection system to detect EAAT2 antigen targets in samples. The ELISA Kit is designed to detect native, not recombinant, EAAT2. Appropriate sample types may include undiluted body fluids and/or tissue homogenates, secretions such as Tissue homogenates, Cell lysates and Other Biological Fluids.    The test principle applied in this kit is Sandwich enzyme immunoassay. The microtiter plate provided in this kit has been pre-coated with an antibody specific to Excitatory Amino Acid Transporter 2 (EAAT2). Standards or samples are then added to the appropriate microtiter plate wells with a biotin-conjugated antibody specific to Excitatory Amino Acid Transporter 2 (EAAT2). Next, Avidin conjugated to Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) is added to each microplate well and incubated. After TMB substrate solution is added, only those wells that contain Excitatory Amino Acid Transporter 2 (EAAT2), biotin-conjugated antibody and enzyme-conjugated Avidin will exhibit a change in color. The enzyme-substrate reaction is terminated by the addition of sulphuric acid solution and the color change is measured spectrophotometrically at a wavelength of 450nm ± 10nm. The concentration of Excitatory Amino Acid Transporter 2 (EAAT2) in the samples is then determined by comparing the O.D. of the samples to the standard curve.

 NCBI Summary for EAAT2    This gene encodes a member of a family of solute transporter proteins. The membrane-bound protein is the principal transporter that clears the excitatory neurotransmitter glutamate from the extracellular space at synapses in the central nervous system. Glutamate clearance is necessary for proper synaptic activation and to prevent neuronal damage from excessive activation of glutamate receptors. Mutations in and decreased expression of this protein are associated with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis. Alternatively spliced transcript variants of this gene have been identified.
