Specificity    This assay has high sensitivity and excellent specificity for detection of MMP-3 . No significant cross-reactivity or interference between MMP-3 and analogues was observed. Note: Limited by current skills and knowledge, it is difficult for us to complete the crossreactivity detection between MMP-3 and all the analogues, therefore, cross reaction may still exist.

Product Note    Our ELISA Kit assays are dynamic research tools and sometimes they may be updated and improved. If the format of this assay is important to you then please request the current manual or contact our technical support team with a presales inquiry before placing an order. We will confirm the current details of the assay. We cannot guarantee the sample manual posted online is the most current manual.
Other Notes    Small volumes of MMP-3 elisa kit vial(s) may occasionally become entrapped in the seal of the product vial during shipment and storage. If necessary, briefly centrifuge the vial on a tabletop centrifuge to dislodge any liquid in the container`s cap. Certain products may require to ship with dry ice and additional dry ice fee may apply.
Searchable Terms for MMP-3 purchase    MBS762109 is a ready-to-use microwell, strip plate Sandwich ELISA (enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay) Kit for analyzing the presence of the Matrix Metalloproteinase 3 (MMP-3) ELISA Kit target analytes in biological samples. The concentration gradients of the kit standards or positive controls render a theoretical kit detection range of 0.156-10ng/ml in biological research samples containing MMP-3, with an estimated sensitivity of <0.094ng/ml. The ELISA analytical biochemical technique of the MBS762109 kit is based on MMP-3 antibody-MMP-3 antigen interactions (immunosorbency) and an HRP colorimetric detection system to detect MMP-3 antigen targets in samples. The ELISA Kit is designed to detect native, not recombinant, MMP-3. Appropriate sample types may include undiluted body fluids and/or tissue homogenates, secretions such as Serum, plasma, tissue homogenates and other biological fluids. Quality control assays assessing reproducibility identified the intra-assay CV (%) and inter-assay CV(%).

Related Product Information for MMP-3 elisa kit

Principle of the Assay: This kit was based on sandwich enzyme-linked immune-sorbent assay technology. Anti- MMP-3 antibody was pre-coated onto 96-well plates. And the biotin conjugated anti- MMP-3 antibody was used as detection antibodies. The standards, test samples and biotin conjugated detection antibody were added to the wells subsequently, and washed with wash buffer. HRPStreptavidin was added and unbound conjugates were washed away with wash buffer. TMB substrates were used to visualize HRP enzymatic reaction. TMB was catalyzed by HRP to produce a blue color product that changed into yellow after adding acidic stop solution. The density of yellow is proportional to the MMP-3 amount of sample captured in plate. Read the O.D. absorbance at 450nm in a microplate reader, and then the concentration of MMP-3 can be calculated.

NCBI Summary for MMP-3    Proteins of the matrix metalloproteinase (MMP) family are involved in the breakdown of extracellular matrix in normal physiological processes, such as embryonic development, reproduction, and tissue remodeling, as well as in disease processes, such as arthritis and metastasis. Most MMP's are secreted as inactive proproteins which are activated when cleaved by extracellular proteinases. This gene encodes an enzyme which degrades fibronectin, laminin, collagens III, IV, IX, and X, and cartilage proteoglycans. The enzyme is thought to be involved in wound repair, progression of atherosclerosis, and tumor initiation. The gene is part of a cluster of MMP genes which localize to chromosome 11q22.3. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

UniProt Comments for MMP-3    MMP3: Can degrade fibronectin, laminin, gelatins of type I, III, IV, and V; collagens III, IV, X, and IX, and cartilage proteoglycans. Activates procollagenase. Defects in MMP3 are the cause of susceptibility to coronary heart disease type 6 (CHDS6). A multifactorial disease characterized by an imbalance between myocardial functional requirements and the capacity of the coronary vessels to supply sufficient blood flow. Decreased capacity of the coronary vessels is often associated with thickening and loss of elasticity of the coronary arteries. A polymorphism in the MMP3 promoter region is associated with the risk of coronary heart disease and myocardial infarction, due to lower MMP3 proteolytic activity and higher extracellular matrix deposition in atherosclerotic lesions. Belongs to the peptidase M10A family.

Protein type: EC 3.4.24.17; Motility/polarity/chemotaxis; Protease; Secreted; Secreted, signal peptide

Cellular Component: extracellular region; extracellular space

Molecular Function: endopeptidase activity; metallopeptidase activity; protein binding; serine-type endopeptidase activity

Research Articles on MMP-3    1. Serum MMP3 was significantly higher in juvenile-onset anklylosing spondylitis patients than in controls. There was no significant difference in MMP3 levels among patients with various HLA-B27 genotypes. MMP3 level was associated with disease activity.
