Specificity    This assay has high sensitivity and excellent specificity for detection of Rat PLAU/uPA. No significant cross-reactivity or interference between Rat PLAU/uPA and analogues was observed. Note: Limited by current skills and knowledge, it is impossible for us to complete the cross- reactivity detection between Rat PLAU/uPA and all the analogues, therefore, cross reaction may still exist.

Searchable Terms for PLAU/uPA purchase    MBS2505052 is a ready-to-use microwell, strip plate Sandwich ELISA (enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay) Kit for analyzing the presence of the PLAU/uPA, ELISA Kit target analytes in biological samples. The concentration gradients of the kit standards or positive controls render a theoretical kit detection range of 15.625-1000pg/mL in biological research samples containing PLAU/uPA, with an estimated sensitivity of Min: 9.375pg/mL; Max: 1000pg/mL. The ELISA analytical biochemical technique of the MBS2505052 kit is based on PLAU/uPA antibody-PLAU/uPA antigen interactions (immunosorbency) and an HRP colorimetric detection system to detect PLAU/uPA antigen targets in samples. The ELISA Kit is designed to detect native, not recombinant, PLAU/uPA. Appropriate sample types may include undiluted body fluids and/or tissue homogenates, secretions such as Serum, Plasma, Biological Fluids. Quality control assays assessing reproducibility identified the intra-assay CV (%) and inter-assay CV(%).

Related Product Information for PLAU/uPA elisa kit

Description: The kit is a sandwich enzyme immunoassay for in vitro quantitative measurement of PLAU/uPA in Rat serum, plasma and other biological fluids
Principle of the Assay: This ELISA kit uses Sandwich-ELISA as the method. The micro ELISA plate provided in this kit has been pre-coated with an antibody specific to Rat PLAU/uPA. Standards or samples are added to the appropriate micro ELISA plate wells and bound by the specific antibody. Then a biotinylated detection antibody specific for Rat PLAU/uPA and Avidin-Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) conjugate is added to each micro plate well successively and incubated. Free components are washed away. The substrate solution is added to each well. Only those wells that contain Rat PLAU/uPA, biotinylated detection antibody and Avidin-HRP conjugate will appear blue in color. The enzyme-substrate reaction is terminated by the addition of a sulphuric acid solution and the color turns yellow. The optical density (OD) is measured spectrophotometrically at a wavelength of 450 nm +/- 2 nm. The OD value is proportional to the concentration of Rat PLAU/uPA. You can calculate the concentration of Rat PLAU/uPA in the samples by comparing the OD of the samples to the standard curve.

NCBI Summary for PLAU/uPA    This gene encodes a serine protease involved in degradation of the extracellular matrix and possibly tumor cell migration and proliferation. A specific polymorphism in this gene may be associated with late-onset Alzheimer's disease and also with decreased affinity for fibrin-binding. This protein converts plasminogen to plasmin by specific cleavage of an Arg-Val bond in plasminogen. Plasmin in turn cleaves this protein at a Lys-Ile bond to form a two-chain derivative in which a single disulfide bond connects the amino-terminal A-chain to the catalytically active, carboxy-terminal B-chain. This two-chain derivative is also called HMW-uPA (high molecular weight uPA). HMW-uPA can be further processed into LMW-uPA (low molecular weight uPA) by cleavage of chain A into a short chain A (A1) and an amino-terminal fragment. LMW-uPA is proteolytically active but does not bind to the uPA receptor. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Feb 2009]

UniProt Comments for PLAU/uPA    uPA: Specifically cleave the zymogen plasminogen to form the active enzyme plasmin. Defects in PLAU are the cause of Quebec platelet disorder (QPD). QPD is an autosomal dominant bleeding disorder due to a gain-of-function defect in fibrinolysis. Although affected individuals do not exhibit systemic fibrinolysis, they show delayed onset bleeding after challenge, such as surgery. The hallmark of the disorder is markedly increased PLAU levels within platelets, which causes intraplatelet plasmin generation and secondary degradation of alpha-granule proteins. Belongs to the peptidase S1 family. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.
