Searchable Terms for REN purchase    MBS764319 is a ready-to-use microwell, strip plate Sandwich, Double Antibody ELISA (enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay) Kit for analyzing the presence of the Renin, ELISA Kit target analytes in biological samples. The concentration gradients of the kit standards or positive controls render a theoretical kit detection range of 15.625-1000pg/ml in biological research samples containing REN, with an estimated sensitivity of 9.375pg/ml. The ELISA analytical biochemical technique of the MBS764319 kit is based on REN antibody-REN antigen interactions (immunosorbency) and an HRP colorimetric detection system to detect REN antigen targets in samples. The ELISA Kit is designed to detect native, not recombinant, REN. Appropriate sample types may include undiluted body fluids and/or tissue homogenates, secretions such as Serum, plasma and other biological fluids. Quality control assays assessing reproducibility identified the intra-assay CV (%) and inter-assay CV(%).

Product Description specifically for REN elisa kit

Principle of the Assay||This kit was based on sandwich enzyme-linked immune-sorbent assay technology. Anti-Rat Renin antibody was pre-coated onto 96-well plates. And the biotin conjugated anti-Rat Renin antibody was used as detection antibodies. The standards, test samples and biotin conjugated detection antibody were added to the wells subsequently, and wash with wash buffer. HRP-Streptavidin was added and unbound conjugates were washed away with wash buffer. TMB substrates were used to visualize HRP enzymatic reaction. TMB was catalyzed by HRP to produce a blue color product that changed into yellow after adding acidic stop solution. The density of yellow is proportional to the Rat Renin amount of sample captured in plate. Read the O.D. absorbance at 450nm in a microplate reader, and then the concentration of Rat Renin can be calculated.

NCBI Summary for REN    Renin catalyzes the first step in the activation pathway of angiotensinogen--a cascade that can result in aldosterone release, vasoconstriction, and increase in blood pressure. Renin, an aspartyl protease, cleaves angiotensinogen to form angiotensin I, which is converted to angiotensin II by angiotensin I converting enzyme, an important regulator of blood pressure and electrolyte balance. Transcript variants that encode different protein isoforms and that arise from alternative splicing and the use of alternative promoters have been described, but their full-length nature has not been determined. Mutations in this gene have been shown to cause familial hyperproreninemia. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

UniProt Comments for REN    REN: Renin is a highly specific endopeptidase, whose only known function is to generate angiotensin I from angiotensinogen in the plasma, initiating a cascade of reactions that produce an elevation of blood pressure and increased sodium retention by the kidney. Interacts with ATP6AP2. Interaction with ATP6AP2 results in a 5-fold increased efficiency in angiotensinogen processing. Belongs to the peptidase A1 family. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Research Articles on REN    1. Demonstrate that there are strong interactions between prorenin, ATP6AP2, and TGFB1 and that this system has a greater capacity in female amnion to stimulate profibrotic pathways, thus maintaining the integrity of the fetal membranes.
