We will confirm the current details of the assay. We cannot guarantee the sample manual posted online is the most current manual.
Other Notes    Small volumes of PROG elisa kit vial(s) may occasionally become entrapped in the seal of the product vial during shipment and storage. If necessary, briefly centrifuge the vial on a tabletop centrifuge to dislodge any liquid in the container`s cap. Certain products may require to ship with dry ice and additional dry ice fee may apply.
Searchable Terms for PROG purchase    MBS265343 is a ready-to-use microwell, strip plate Sandwich ELISA (enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay) Kit for analyzing the presence of the progesterone (PROG) ELISA Kit target analytes in biological samples. The concentration gradients of the kit standards or positive controls render a theoretical kit detection range of 100 ng/ml-1.56 ng/ml in biological research samples containing PROG, with an estimated sensitivity of 0.5 ng/ml. The ELISA analytical biochemical technique of the MBS265343 kit is based on PROG antibody-PROG antigen interactions (immunosorbency) and an HRP colorimetric detection system to detect PROG antigen targets in samples. The ELISA Kit is designed to detect native, not recombinant, PROG. Appropriate sample types may include undiluted body fluids and/or tissue homogenates, secretions such as Rat serum, plasma or Cell Culture Supernatant and organizations in the natural and recombinant PROG concentration. Quality control assays assessing reproducibility identified the intra-assay CV (%) and inter-assay CV(%).

Related Product Information for PROG elisa kit

Principle of the assay: This experiment use double-sandwich elisa technique and the ELISA Kit provided is typical. The pre-coated antibody is Rat PROG monoclonal antibody and the detecting antibody is polyclonal antibody with biotin labeled. Samples and biotin labeling antibody are added into ELISA plate wells and washed out with PBS or TBS. Then Avidin-peroxidase conjugates are added to ELISA wells in order; Use TMB substrate for coloring after reactant thoroughly washed out by PBS or TBS. TMB turns into blue in peroxidase catalytic and finally turns into yellow under the action of acid. The color depth and the testing factors in samples are positively correlated.

NCBI Summary for PROG    This gene encodes a member of the steroid receptor superfamily. The encoded protein mediates the physiological effects of progesterone, which plays a central role in reproductive events associated with the establishment and maintenance of pregnancy. This gene uses two distinct promotors and translation start sites in the first exon to produce two isoforms, A and B. The two isoforms are identical except for the additional 165 amino acids found in the N-terminus of isoform B and mediate their own response genes and physiologic effects with little overlap. [provided by RefSeq, Jan 2011]

Research Articles on PROG    1. Data suggest that combined low tumor expression of PR/PGR (progesterone receptor) and PTEN (phosphatase and tensin homologue) may be used as prognostic biomarkers in subjects with pancreatic neuroendocrine tumors following surgery.
