Searchable Terms for SERPINA1 purchase    MBS910027 is a ready-to-use microwell, strip plate Competitive ELISA (enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay) Kit for analyzing the presence of the serpin peptidase inhibitor, clade A (alpha-1 antiproteinase, antitrypsin), member 1 (SERPINA1) ELISA Kit target analytes in biological samples. The concentration gradients of the kit standards or positive controls render a theoretical kit detection range of 62.5 ng/ml-4000 ng/ml in biological research samples containing SERPINA1, with an estimated sensitivity of Typically less than 15.6 ng/ml. The ELISA analytical biochemical technique of the MBS910027 kit is based on SERPINA1 antibody-SERPINA1 antigen interactions (immunosorbency) and an HRP colorimetric detection system to detect SERPINA1 antigen targets in samples. The ELISA Kit is designed to detect native, not recombinant, SERPINA1. Appropriate sample types may include undiluted body fluids and/or tissue homogenates, secretions such as Serum, plasma, tissue homogenates. Quality control assays assessing reproducibility identified the intra-assay CV (%) and inter-assay CV(%).

Related Product Information for SERPINA1 elisa kit

Principle of the Assay: This assay employs the competitive inhibition enzyme immunoassay technique. The microtiter plate provided in this kit has been pre-coated with SERPINA1. Standards or samples are added to the appropriate microtiter plate wells with Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) conjugated antibody preparation specific for SERPINA1. The competitive inhibition reaction is launched between with pre-coated SERPINA1 and SERPINA1 in samples. A substrate solution is added to the wells and the color develops in opposite to the amount of SERPINA1 in the samples. The color development is stopped and the intensity of the color is measured.

UniProt Comments for SERPINA1    SERPINA1: Inhibitor of serine proteases. Its primary target is elastase, but it also has a moderate affinity for plasmin and thrombin. Irreversibly inhibits trypsin, chymotrypsin and plasminogen activator. The aberrant form inhibits insulin-induced NO synthesis in platelets, decreases coagulation time and has proteolytic activity against insulin and plasmin. Defects in SERPINA1 are the cause of alpha-1-antitrypsin deficiency (A1ATD). A disorder whose most common manifestation is emphysema, which becomes evident by the third to fourth decade. A less common manifestation of the deficiency is liver disease, which occurs in children and adults, and may result in cirrhosis and liver failure. Environmental factors, particularly cigarette smoking, greatly increase the risk of emphysema at an earlier age. Belongs to the serpin family. 3 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Protein type: Inhibitor; Secreted; Secreted, signal peptide

Cellular Component: Golgi apparatus; extracellular space; endoplasmic reticulum

Research Articles on SERPINA1    1. These results suggest that transfer of the N-terminal acidic extension of HCII to alpha1-PI M358R enhanced its inhibition of thrombin by conferring the ability to bind exosite 1 on HAPI M358R.
