Product Description specifically for APOM recombinant protein

Description: APOM Human Recombinant produced in E Coli is a single, non-glycosylated, polypeptide chain containing 187 amino acids (23-188 a.a.) and having a molecular mass of 20.9 kDa. APOM protein is fused to a 21 amino acid His-Tag at N-terminus and purified by standard chromatography.

Introduction: APOM is belongs to the lipocalin protein family and is associated with high density lipoproteins and to a lesser extent with low density lipoproteins and triglyceride-rich lipoproteins. APOM is secreted through the plasma membrane but remains membrane-bound, where it takes part in lipid transport..

NCBI Summary for APOM    The protein encoded by this gene is an apolipoprotein and member of the lipocalin protein family. It is found associated with high density lipoproteins and to a lesser extent with low density lipoproteins and triglyceride-rich lipoproteins. The encoded protein is secreted through the plasma membrane but remains membrane-bound, where it is involved in lipid transport. Alternate splicing results in both coding and non-coding variants of this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Jan 2012]
