Related Product Information for Dnak recombinant protein

DnaK, originally identified for its DNA replication by bacteriophage lambda in E. coli is the bacterial hsp70 chaperone. This protein is involved in the folding and assembly of newly synthesized polypeptide chains and in preventing the aggregation of stress-denatured proteins. The protein coding region of the substrate binding domain of DNAK (amino acids 385-638) was amplified by PCR and cloned into an E. coli expression vector. The substrate binding domain of DNAK was overexpressed in E. coli and the recombinant protein was purified to apparent homogeneity by using conventional column chromatography techniques. Additional amino acid (Met) is attached at N- terminus

NCBI Summary for Dnak    ATP-regulated binding and release of polypeptide substrates. [More information is available at EcoGene: EG10241]. Hsc56 exhibits specificity toward Hsc62, as Hsc56 does not activate DnaK or Hsc66 ATPase activity . [More information is available at EcoCyc: EG10241].

UniProt Comments for Dnak    Plays an essential role in the initiation of phage lambda DNA replication, where it acts in an ATP-dependent fashion with the DnaJ protein to release lambda O and P proteins from the preprimosomal complex. DnaK is also involved in chromosomal DNA replication, possibly through an analogous interaction with the DnaA protein. Also participates actively in the response to hyperosmotic shock.

Research Articles on Dnak    1. the mutant K-12 DeltadnaK was more sensitive to Ultrasound with c. 2.5 log (CFU per ml) reduction in comparison to their isogenic wild-type E. coli K-12. This indicates that the dnaK gene participates in general stress response and more specifically to hyperosmotic stress.
