Source    Optimized DNA sequence encoding Mouse extracellular domain of mouse IL-1 receptor type II including a C-terminal His tag was expressed in HEK293 cells
Biological Activity    Measured in an ELISA assay . The ability of mouse IL1R2 (10ug/ml) to bind biotinylated human IL1B was determined to be 0.5 ug/ml
Molecular weight    Recombinant mouse IL-1 receptor type II (CD121b) is a protein consisting of 350 amino acid residue subunits, due to glycosylation migrates as an approximately 90 kDa protein on SDS-PAGE.
Endotoxin    Endotoxin content was assayed using a LAL gel clot method.
Endotoxin level was found to be less than 0.1 ng/ug(1EU/ug).
Presentation    Recombinant Mouse IL-1 receptor II (CD121b) is lyophilized from 0.2 um filtered PBS solution, pH7.2 , 5% Trehalose,0.01% tween80

Preparation and Storage    Recombinant Mouse IL1R2 can be stored in working aliquots at 2C- 8C for one month, or at -20C to -70C for twelve months.
Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles.
Other Notes    Small volumes of IL1R2 recombinant protein vial(s) may occasionally become entrapped in the seal of the product vial during shipment and storage. If necessary, briefly centrifuge the vial on a tabletop centrifuge to dislodge any liquid in the container`s cap. Certain products may require to ship with dry ice and additional dry ice fee may apply.

Related Product Information for IL1R2 recombinant protein

Two distinct IL-lRs have been identified, termed type I and type II. The type I IL-lR is an 80-kDa glycoprotein found predominantly on T cells and fibroblasts, whereas the type II IL-lR is a 60- to 65-kDa molecule that is expressed on activated T cells, B cells, monocytes, and neutrophils. Evidence suggests that the type II IL-lR is not signal- transducing, and its function on the cell surface is unknown. The action of IL-1 is modulated not only by IL-lra but also by the release of a type II soluble IL-iR (sIL-lR). This 47-kDa soluble receptor is present in normal human plasma, serum, and synovial inflammatory exudate and in culture supernatants of activated peripheral blood mononuclear cells and neutrophils. sIL-lR is also released from the human B-cell Burkitt lymphoma cell line Raji, which expresses only type II IL-1R.

UniProt Comments for IL1R2    IL-1RB: Non-signaling receptor for IL1A, IL1B and IL1RN. Reduces IL1B activities. Serves as a decoy receptor by competetive binding to IL1B and preventing its binding to IL1R1. Also modulates cellular response through non-signaling association with IL1RAP after binding to IL1B. IL1R2 (membrane and secreted forms) preferentially binds IL1B and poorly IL1A and IL1RN. The secreted IL1R2 recruits secreted IL1RAP with high affinity; this complex formation may be the dominant mechanism for neutralization of IL1B by secreted/soluble receptors. Belongs to the interleukin-1 receptor family. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Protein type: Membrane protein, integral

Cellular Component: membrane; plasma membrane; integral to membrane; extracellular region

Molecular Function: interleukin-1, Type II, blocking receptor activity; interleukin-1 receptor activity
