NCBI Summary for Cdc25a
novel phosphatase that mediates the start of the cell cycle; predominantly expressed in late G1, does not fucntion as mitotic regulator [RGD, Feb 2006]
UniProt Comments for Cdc25a
Tyrosine protein phosphatase which functions as a dosage-dependent inducer of mitotic progression. Directly dephosphorylates CDK1 and stimulates its kinase activity. Also dephosphorylates CDK2 in complex with cyclin E, in vitro (). Phosphorylation by PIM1 leads to an increase in phosphatase activity.
