Tag Information    This protein contains an N-terminal tag and may also contain a C-terminal Myc-tag. N-terminal host tags may vary (His, His-SUMO, His-B2M, GST). Tag types are determined by various factors including tag-protein stability and, therefore, are subject to change; please inquire for tag information. Additional charge for Tag removal. Tag removal service standardly refers to removal of N-terminal Tag. Any C-terminal Myc-tag may remain intact unless removal of the C-terminal Myc-tag is specifically requested. In most cases tags can be successfully removed. If the lab concludes the protein is no longer stable after tag removal then your protein will be supplied with the tag intact, and you will not be charged for tag removal service.
Sterility    Sterile filter available upon request.
Endotoxin    Low endotoxin available upon request.

Other Notes    Small volumes of Mut recombinant protein vial(s) may occasionally become entrapped in the seal of the product vial during shipment and storage. If necessary, briefly centrifuge the vial on a tabletop centrifuge to dislodge any liquid in the container`s cap. Certain products may require to ship with dry ice and additional dry ice fee may apply.

UniProt Comments for Mut    MUT: Involved in the degradation of several amino acids, odd- chain fatty acids and cholesterol via propionyl-CoA to the tricarboxylic acid cycle. MCM has different functions in other species. Defects in MUT are the cause of methylmalonic aciduria type mut (MMAM). MMAM is an often fatal disorder of organic acid metabolism. Common clinical features include lethargy, vomiting, failure to thrive, hypotonia, neurological deficit and early death. Two forms of the disease are distinguished by the presence (mut-) or absence (mut0) of residual enzyme activity. Mut0 patients have more severe neurological manifestations of the disease than do MUT- patients. MMAM is unresponsive to vitamin B12 therapy. Belongs to the methylmalonyl-CoA mutase family.

Protein type: Carbohydrate Metabolism - propanoate; EC 5.4.99.2; Isomerase; Mitochondrial; Amino Acid Metabolism - valine, leucine and isoleucine degradation

Cellular Component: mitochondrion

Molecular Function: catalytic activity; cobalamin binding; intramolecular transferase activity; isomerase activity; metal ion binding; methylmalonyl-CoA mutase activity

Biological Process: homocysteine metabolic process; metabolic process; post-embryonic development
