Reconstitution    Reconstitute with 0.25mll distilled water. Care should be taken during reconstitution as the protein may appear as a film at the bottom of the vial. MyBioSource recommends that the vial is gently mixed after reconstitution. For extended storage, the additions of 0.1% bovine serum albumin (BSA) is recommended.
Preparation
 Buffer Solution    10mM Sodium Phosphate
Activity    Determined by its ability to chemoattract human monocytes using a concentration range of 1.0-10.0 ng/ml.
 Target Species    Human

Preparation and Storage    Prior to reconstitution store at 4 degree C. After reconstitution store at -20 degree C. Storage in frost-free freezers is not recommended. This product should be stored undiluted. Avoid repeated freezing and thawing as this may denature the antibody. Should this product contain a precipitate we recommend microcentrifugation before use.
Shelf Life: 3 months from date of reconstitution.
Other Notes    Small volumes of PLGF-1 recombinant protein vial(s) may occasionally become entrapped in the seal of the product vial during shipment and storage. If necessary, briefly centrifuge the vial on a tabletop centrifuge to dislodge any liquid in the container`s cap. Certain products may require to ship with dry ice and additional dry ice fee may apply.

Related Product Information for PLGF-1 recombinant protein

Recombinant human placental growth factor (PLGF) is a dimeric glycoprotein and member of the vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) family, involved in angiogenesis, and the stimulation of endothelial cell proliferation and migration. The three isoforms PLGF-1, PLGF-2 and PLGF-3 are present in most placental tissues and act through binding to the VEGFR-1/FLT1 receptor. PLGF has become a focus area in the study of angiogenesis and inflammatory diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis and psoriasis, and PLGF is used as a biochemical marker in cardiovascular disease, and also detected at reduced levels during preeclampsia.
Applications Tested/Suitable for PLGF-1 recombinant protein

ELISA (EIA), Functional Assays (FN), Western Blot (WB)

Application Notes for PLGF-1 recombinant protein    ELISA: Recombinant human PLGF may be used as a standard for ELISA applications with either a purified human PLGF antibody or a biotinylated human PLGF antibody.
Western Blot: Recombinant human PLGF may be used as the positive control for Western Blotting application with either a purified human PLGF antibody or a biotinylated human PLGF antibody.
ELISA: Minimum Dilution: 0.2; Maximum Dilution: 0.4ng/well
Functional Assays: Minimum Dilution: 1.0; Maximum Dilution: 10.0ng/ml
Western Blotting: Minimum Dilution: 1.5; Maximum Dilution: 3.0ng/lane

NCBI Summary for PLGF-1    This gene encodes a growth factor found in placenta which is homologous to vascular endothelial growth factor. Alternatively spliced transcripts encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene.[provided by RefSeq, Jun 2011]

UniProt Comments for PLGF-1    PGF: Growth factor active in angiogenesis and endothelial cell growth, stimulating their proliferation and migration. It binds to the receptor FLT1/VEGFR-1. Isoform PlGF-2 binds NRP1/neuropilin-1 and NRP2/neuropilin-2 in a heparin-dependent manner. Also promotes cell tumor growth. Belongs to the PDGF/VEGF growth factor family. 3 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.
