Host Note    Optimized DNA sequence encoding Human TARC (CCL17) mature chain was expressed in Escherichia Coli.
Endotoxin    Endotoxin content was assayed using a LAL gel clot method.
Endotoxin level was found to be less than 0.1 ng/ug (1EU/ug).
Reconstitution    A quick spin of the vial followed by reconstitution in distilled water to a concentration not less than 0.1 mg/mL. This solution can then be diluted into other buffers.
Molecular Weight Note    Human CCL-17, generated by the proteolytic removal of the signal peptide
and propeptide and has a calculated molecular mass of approximately 8kDa.

Recombinant TARC is a disulfide-linked monomeric protein consisting of 72 amino acid residue subunits and migrates as an approximately 8 kDa protein under non-reducing conditions and reducing conditions in SDS-PAGE.

Preparation and Storage    The lyophilized protein is stable for at least 2 years from date of receipt at -20 degree C.
Upon reconstitution, this cytokine can be stored in working aliquots at 2 degree - 8 degree C for one month, or at -20 degree C for six months, with a carrier protein without detectable loss of activity.

Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles.
Other Notes    Small volumes of TARC recombinant protein vial(s) may occasionally become entrapped in the seal of the product vial during shipment and storage. If necessary, briefly centrifuge the vial on a tabletop centrifuge to dislodge any liquid in the container`s cap. Certain products may require to ship with dry ice and additional dry ice fee may apply.

Related Product Information for TARC recombinant protein

Thymus and activation- regulated chemokine (TARC) is a recently identified CC chemokine that is expressed constitutively in thymus and transiently in stimulated peripheral blood mononuclear cells. TARC functions as a selective chemoattractant for T cells that express a class of receptors binding TARC with high affinity and specificity. The chemokine TARC is a ligand for the chemokine receptor CCR4 expressed on T helper (Th) 2- type CD4 T cells.

NCBI Summary for TARC    This antimicrobial gene is one of several Cys-Cys (CC) cytokine genes clustered on the q arm of chromosome 16. Cytokines are a family of secreted proteins involved in immunoregulatory and inflammatory processes. The CC cytokines are proteins characterized by two adjacent cysteines. The cytokine encoded by this gene displays chemotactic activity for T lymphocytes, but not monocytes or granulocytes. The product of this gene binds to chemokine receptors CCR4 and CCR8. This chemokine plays important roles in T cell development in thymus as well as in trafficking and activation of mature T cells. [provided by RefSeq, Sep 2014]
