Purity/Purification    Greater than 98.0% as determined by:
(a) Analysis by reducing and non-reducing SDS-PAGE gel.
(b) Gel-filtration chromatography under non denaturing conditions.
 Form/Format    White lyophilized (freeze-dried) powder.
Section Bar
Solubility    It is recommended to reconstitute the lyophilized rbGH in sterile 0.4% NaHCO3 adjusted, not less than 100ug/ml, which can then be further diluted to other aqueous solutions.
Protein Content    Protein quantization was carried out by UV spectroscopy at 280 nm using the absorbency value of 0.70 as the extinction coefficient for a 0.1% (1mg/ml) solution at pH 8.0. This value is calculated by the PC GENE computer analysis program of protein sequences (IntelliGenetics).
Dimers and Aggregates    The purified rbGH consists of > 97% monomers as determined by gel-filtration chromatography.
Endotoxin    Less than 0.1 ng/ug (IEU/ug) of rabbit GH
Formulation    The protein was lyophilized from a concentrated (1mg/ml) solution with 0.02% NaHCO3.
Biological Activity    rbGH is fully biologically active as evidenced by inducing proliferation of FDC-P1 cells stably transfected with rabbit GH receptor.
Section Bar
Preparation and Storage    Lyophilized rbGH although stable at room temperature for several weeks, should be stored desiccated below -18 degree C. Upon reconstitution at > 0.1 rbGH mg/ml and up to 2 2 mg/ml and filter sterilization rbGH can be stored at +4 degree C
Other Notes    Small volumes of GH1 recombinant protein vial(s) may occasionally become entrapped in the seal of the product vial during shipment and storage. If necessary, briefly centrifuge the vial on a tabletop centrifuge to dislodge any liquid in the container`s cap. Certain products may require to ship with dry ice and additional dry ice fee may apply.

UniProt Comments for GH1    Plays an important role in growth control. Its major role in stimulating body growth is to stimulate the liver and other tissues to secrete IGF-1. It stimulates both the differentiation and proliferation of myoblasts. It also stimulates amino acid uptake and protein synthesis in muscle and other tissues.
