UniProt Comments for ENTPD8
ENTPD8: Canalicular ectonucleoside NTPDase responsible for the main hepatic NTPDase activity. Ectonucleoside NTPDases catalyze the hydrolysis of gamma- and beta-phosphate residues of nucleotides, playing a central role in concentration of extracellular nucleotides. Has activity toward ATP, ADP, UTP and UDP, but not toward AMP. Belongs to the GDA1/CD39 NTPase family. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.
Protein type: Hydrolase; Membrane protein, integral; Membrane protein, multi-pass; EC 3.6.1.5; Nucleotide Metabolism - pyrimidine; Nucleotide Metabolism - purine
Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 9q34.3
