Delta-latroinsectotoxin

Insecticidal toxin that induces massive neurotransmitter release at insect but not vertebrate neuromuscular junctions. Forms cation-permeable pores (with high permeability to calcium) in lipid membranes locust muscle membrane and artificial lipid bilayers. Binds to neurexin-1-alpha (NRXN1), adhesion G protein-coupled receptor L1 (ADGRL1, also known as latrophilin-1), and receptor-type tyrosine-protein phosphatase S (PTPRS), and induces neurotransmitter exocytosis through two calcium-dependent mechanisms (membrane pore formation and signaling via latrophilin) and a yet to be defined calcium-independent mechanism (By similarity).
