Homeodomain-interacting protein kinase

separator
Serine/threonine-protein kinase required in the somatic gonadal cells to regulate germline proliferation during larval development and in adulthood. Plays a role in the development/differentiation of gonadal distal tip cells (DTC).

Below are the list of possible Homeodomain-interacting protein kinase products. If you cannot find the target and/or product is not available in our catalog, please click here to contact us and request the product or submit your request for custom elisa kit production, custom recombinant protein production or custom antibody production.  Homeodomain-interacting protein kinase 2 Recombinant
 Homeodomain-interacting protein kinase 2 Antibody
Also known as Homeodomain-interacting protein kinase 2 (hHIPk2).
HIPK2: homeodomain interacting protein kinase 2 is a CMGC kinase of the DYRK family. Interacts with TRADD. Acts as a corepressor of several transcription factors, including SMAD1 and POU4F1/Brn3a and probably NK homeodomain transcription factors. Inhibits cell growth and promotes apoptosis. Involved in transcriptional activation

of TP53 and TP73. In response to TGFB, cooperates with DAXX to activate JNK. Phosphorylates the antiapoptotic factor CTBP1 and promotes its proteasomal degradation. In the Wnt/beta-catenin signaling pathway acts as an intermediate kinase between TAK1 and NLK to promote the proteasomal degradation of MYB. Highly expressed in neuronal tissues, heart and kidney. Weakly expressed ubiquitously. Possible tumor suppressor. Activates p53 in response to UV light, causing growth arrest and apoptosis. Required for cisplatin-induced apoptosis. Downregulated in breast and thyroid carcinomas. Three alternatively spliced isoforms have been described.

Protein type: CMGC group; DYRK family; EC 2.7.11.1; HIPK subfamily; Kinase, protein; Protein kinase, CMGC; Protein kinase, Ser/Thr (non-receptor)

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 7q34

Cellular Component: cytoplasm; nuclear body; nucleoplasm; nucleus; PML body

Molecular Function: protein binding; protein kinase activity; protein serine/threonine kinase activity; SMAD binding; transcription corepressor activity; virion binding

Biological Process: DNA damage response, signal transduction by p53 class mediator resulting in induction of apoptosis; DNA damage response, signal transduction by p53 class mediator resulting in transcription of p21 class mediator; erythrocyte differentiation; eye development; negative regulation of BMP signaling pathway; peptidyl-serine phosphorylation; peptidyl-threonine phosphorylation; PML body organization and biogenesis; positive regulation of angiogenesis; positive regulation of JNK cascade; positive regulation of protein binding; positive regulation of transcription factor activity; positive regulation of transcription from RNA polymerase II promoter; positive regulation of transcription, DNA-dependent; positive regulation of transforming growth factor beta receptor signaling pathway; protein amino acid phosphorylation; regulation of cell cycle
