Transmembrane O-methyltransferase ELISA Kit Transmembrane O-methyltransferase Recombinant Transmembrane O-methyltransferase Antibody | Also known as Transmembrane O-methyltransferase (Catechol O-methyltransferase 2) (Protein LRTOMT2). LRTOMT: Catalyzes the O-methylation, and thereby the inactivation, of catecholamine neurotransmitters and catechol hormones. Required for auditory function. Defects in LRTOMT are the cause of deafness autosomal recessive type 63 (DFNB63). A form of sensorineural hearing loss. Sensorineural deafne >>> ss results from damage to the neural receptors of the inner ear, the nerve pathways to the brain, or the area of the brain that receives sound information. Belongs to the methyltransferase superfamily. Catechol-O-methyltransferase family. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.
Protein type: Cell development/differentiation; EC 2.1.1.6; Membrane protein, integral; Methyltransferase
Molecular Function: catechol O-methyltransferase activity
Biological Process: auditory receptor cell development; catecholamine catabolic process; sensory perception of sound |
