1,3-beta-galactosyl-N-acetylhexosamine phosphorylase

Reversibly phosphorolyzes lacto-N-biose to Gal1-P and N-acetylglucosamine (GlcNAc) and galacto-N-biose to Gal1-P and N-acetylgalactosamine (GalNAc). Involved in the lacto-N-biose I/galacto-N-biose (LNB/GNB) degradation pathway, which is important for host intestinal colonization by bifidobacteria.

1,3-beta-galactosyl-N-acetylhexosamine phosphorylase

Also known as 1,3-beta-galactosyl-N-acetylhexosamine phosphorylase (Galacto-N-biose/lacto-N-biose I phosphorylase) (GLNBP).

1,3-beta-galactosyl-N-acetylhexosamine phosphorylase Cphy0577

Also known as 1,3-beta-galactosyl-N-acetylhexosamine phosphorylase Cphy0577 (D-galactosyl-1,4-L-rhamnose phosphorylase).
Reversibly phosphorolyzes beta-D-galactopyranosyl-(1->3)-N-acetyl-D-glucosamine to form alpha-D-galactopyranose 1-phosphate and acetyl-D-glucosamine. Active towards galacto-N-biose and lacto-N-biose. Does not phosphorolyze galacto-N-tetraose or lacto-N-tetraose. In the reverse reaction has activity toward N-acetyl-D-glucosamine and N-acetyl-D-galactosamine, but not L-rhamnose, D-glucose or D-galactose.

1,3-beta-galactosyl-N-acetylhexosamine phosphorylase Cphy3030

Also known as 1,3-beta-galactosyl-N-acetylhexosamine phosphorylase Cphy3030 (D-galactosyl-1,4-L-rhamnose phosphorylase).
Reversibly phosphorolyzes beta-D-galactopyranosyl-(1->3)-N-acetyl-D-glucosamine to form alpha-D-galactopyranose 1-phosphate and acetyl-D-glucosamine. Active towards galacto-N-biose and lacto-N-biose. Does not phosphorolyze galacto-N-tetraose or lacto-N-tetraose. In the reverse reaction has activity toward N-acetyl-D-glucosamine and N-acetyl-D-galactosamine, but not L-rhamnose, D-glucose or D-galactose.
