Agroclavine dehydrogenase

Also known as Agroclavine dehydrogenase (Ergot alkaloid biosynthesis protein G).
Mediates the conversion of chanoclavine-I aldehyde to agroclavine in the biosynthesis of ergotamine, an ergot alkaloid. Acts via a non-enzymatic adduct reaction: the substrate is an iminium intermediate that is formed spontaneously from chanoclavine-I aldehyde in the presence of glutathione. Does not require the presence of EasA to complete this reaction ().
