Axin

Inhibitor of the WG signaling pathway. Down-regulates beta-catenin (armadillo=ARM). Probably facilitate the phosphorylation of beta-catenin and APC by GSK3B (zeste-white 3=ZW3).

Below are the list of possible Axin products. Axin

Also known as Axin (Axis inhibition protein) (d-Axin) (dAxin).
Inhibitor of the WG signaling pathway. Down-regulates beta-catenin (armadillo=ARM). Probably facilitate the phosphorylation of beta-catenin and APC by GSK3B (zeste-white 3=ZW3).

Axin-1

Also known as Axin-1 (Axis inhibition protein 1).
Controls dorsoventral patterning via two opposing effects; down-regulates beta-catenin to inhibit the Wnt signaling pathway and ventralize embryos, but also dorsalizes embryos by activating a Wnt-independent JNK signaling pathway.

Axin-2

Also known as Axin-2 (Axin-like protein) (Axil) (Axis inhibition protein 2) (Conductin).
axin 2: is a negative regulator of the Wnt pathway, which is critical in stem cell signaling, morphogenesis, the mesenchymal-epithelial transition, and many cancers. Axin functions as a tumor suppressor. Probably facilitates the phosphorylation of beta-catenin and APC by GSK3B, leading to their ubiquitination and subsequent proteolysis. Is downregulated during progression of esophageal squamous cell carcinoma. Axin1/2 mediate cross-talk between TGF-beta and Wnt signaling pathways.
