The concentration gradients of the kit standards or positive controls render a theoretical kit detection range in biological research samples containing RASA1. The ELISA analytical biochemical technique of the MBS9342386 kit is based on RASA1 antibody-RASA1 antigen interactions (immunosorbency) and an HRP colorimetric detection system to detect RASA1 antigen targets in samples. The ELISA Kit is designed to detect native, not recombinant, RASA1. Appropriate sample types may include undiluted body fluids and/or tissue homogenates, secretions. RASA1: a GTPase activator for normal RAS p21 but not its oncogenic counterpart, converting it to the putatively inactive GDP-bound state. Acting as a suppressor of RAS function, it enhances the weak intrinsic GTPase activity of RAS proteins resulting in the inactive GDP-bound form of RAS, thereby allowing control of cellular proliferation and differentiation. Mutations leading to changes in the binding sites of either protein are associated with basal cell carcinomas. Two alternatively spliced isoforms have been described.
