It was determined the mean O.D value of 20 replicates of the zero standard added by their three standard deviations.

The ELISA analytical biochemical technique of the MBS904556 kit is based on SCGB1D2 antibody-SCGB1D2 antigen interactions (immunosorbency) and an HRP colorimetric detection system to detect SCGB1D2 antigen targets in samples. The ELISA Kit is designed to detect native, not recombinant, SCGB1D2. Appropriate sample types may include undiluted body fluids and/or tissue homogenates, secretions. Principle of the assay: This assay employs the quantitative sandwich enzyme immunoassay technique. Antibody specific for SCGB1D2 has been pre-coated onto a microplate. Standards and samples are pipetted into the wells and any SCGB1D2 present is bound by the immobilized antibody. After removing any unbound substances, a biotin-conjugated antibody specific for SCGB1D2 is added to the wells. After washing, avidin conjugated Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) is added to the wells. Following a wash to remove any unbound avidin-enzyme reagent, a substrate solution is added to the wells and color develops in proportion to the amount of SCGB1D2 bound in the initial step. The color development is stopped and the intensity of the color is measured.

NCBI Summary for SCGB1D2
The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the lipophilin subfamily, part of the uteroglobin superfamily, and is an ortholog of prostatein, the major secretory glycoprotein of the rat ventral prostate gland. Lipophilin gene products are widely expressed in normal tissues, especially in endocrine-responsive organs. Assuming that human lipophilins are the functional counterparts of prostatein, they may be transcriptionally regulated by steroid hormones, with the ability to bind androgens, other steroids and possibly bind and concentrate estramustine, a chemotherapeutic agent widely used for prostate cancer. Although the gene has been reported to be on chromosome 10, this sequence appears to be from a cluster of genes on chromosome 11 that includes mammaglobin 2. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
