Antibody/Peptide Pairs
Scyl2 peptide (MBS9220523) is used for blocking the activity of Scyl2 antibody (MBS9209755)
Research Use Only
For Research Use Only. Not for use in diagnostic procedures.
3D Structure
ModBase 3D Structure for Q8CFE4
Specificity
The synthetic peptide sequence used to generate the antibody was selected from the Center region of Mouse Scyl2. A 10 to 100 fold molar excess to antibody is recommended. Precise conditions should be optimized for a particular assay.
Form/Format
Synthetic peptide was lyophilized with 100% acetonitrile and is supplied as a powder. Reconstitute with 0.1 ml DI water for a final concentration of 1 mg/ml.
Cellular Location
Cytoplasm, perinuclear region. Cytoplasmic vesicle, clathrin-coated vesicle. Golgi apparatus, trans-Golgi network membrane. Endosome membrane. Note: Plasma membrane-associated in clathrin-coated vesicles. Colocalizes to the trans-Golgi network (TGN) and to endosomal membranes with clathrin, transferrin and plasma membrane adapter AP1 and AP3 complexes (By similarity)
Tissue Location
Ubiquitous..
Preparation and Storage
Maintain refrigerated at 2-8 degree C for up to 6 months. For long term storage store at -20 degree C.
Other Notes
Small volumes of Scyl2 blocking peptide vial(s) may occasionally become entrapped in the seal of the product vial during shipment and storage. If necessary, briefly centrifuge the vial on a tabletop centrifuge to dislodge any liquid in the container`s cap. Certain products may require to ship with dry ice and additional dry ice fee may apply.

UniProt Comments for Scyl2
SCYL2: Component of AP2-containing clathrin coated structures at the plasma membrane or of endocytic coated vesicles. According to PubMed:15809293, probable serine/threonine-protein kinase that phosphorylates, in vitro, the beta2-subunit of the plasma membrane adapter complex AP2 and other proteins in presence of poly-L- lysine. According to PubMed:16914521, has no detectable kinase activity in vitro. May regulate clathrin-dependent trafficking between the TGN and/or the endosomal system. Belongs to the protein kinase superfamily.

Protein type: Protein kinase, Other; Kinase, protein; Protein kinase, Ser/Thr (non-receptor); Other group; SCY1 family

Molecular Function: protein binding; receptor binding

Biological Process: endosome to lysosome transport; positive regulation of receptor internalization
