MBS264816 is a ready-to-use microwell, strip plate ELISA (enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay) Kit for analyzing the presence of the Pregnancy Specificbeta1Glycoprotein (SP1 / PSbeta1-G) ELISA Kit target analytes in biological samples. The concentration gradients of the kit standards or positive controls render a theoretical kit detection range in biological research samples containing SP1 / PSbeta1-G. The ELISA analytical biochemical technique of the MBS264816 kit is based on SP1 / PSbeta1-G antibody-SP1 / PSbeta1-G antigen interactions (immunosorbency) and an HRP colorimetric detection system to detect SP1 / PSbeta1-G antigen targets in samples. The ELISA Kit is designed to detect native, not recombinant, SP1 / PSbeta1-G. Appropriate sample types may include undiluted body fluids and/or tissue homogenates, secretions. Quality control assays assessing reproducibility identified the intra-assay CV (%) and inter-assay CV(%).

UniProt Comments for SP1 / PSbeta1-G
PZP: Is able to inhibit all four classes of proteinases by a unique 'trapping' mechanism. This protein has a peptide stretch, called the 'bait region' which contains specific cleavage sites for different proteinases. When a proteinase cleaves the bait region, a conformational change is induced in the protein which traps the proteinase. The entrapped enzyme remains active against low molecular weight substrates (activity against high molecular weight substrates is greatly reduced). Following cleavage in the bait region a thioester bond is hydrolyzed and mediates the covalent binding of the protein to the proteinase. Belongs to the protease inhibitor I39 (alpha-2- macroglobulin) family. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.
