The concentration gradients of the kit standards or positive controls render a theoretical kit detection range in biological research samples containing SSH3. The ELISA analytical biochemical technique of the MBS095463 kit is based on SSH3 antibody-SSH3 antigen interactions (immunosorbency) and an HRP colorimetric detection system to detect SSH3 antigen targets in samples. The ELISA Kit is designed to detect native, not recombinant, SSH3. Appropriate sample types may include undiluted body fluids and/or tissue homogenates, secretions. Quality control assays assessing reproducibility identified the intra-assay CV (%) and inter-assay CV(%).

The ADF (actin-depolymerizing factor)/cofilin family (see MIM 601442) is composed of stimulus-responsive mediators of actin dynamics. ADF/cofilin proteins are inactivated by kinases such as LIM domain kinase-1 (LIMK1; MIM 601329). The SSH family appears to play a role in actin dynamics by reactivating ADF/cofilin proteins in vivo (Niwa et al., 2002 [PubMed 11832213]).[supplied by OMIM, Mar 2008]
