MBS020509 is a ready-to-use microwell, strip plate ELISA (enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay) Kit for analyzing the presence of the Thromboxane A2 (TX-A2) ELISA Kit target analytes in biological samples. The concentration gradients of the kit standards or positive controls render a theoretical kit detection range in biological research samples containing TX-A2. The ELISA analytical biochemical technique of the MBS020509 kit is based on TX-A2 antibody-TX-A2 antigen interactions (immunosorbency) and an HRP colorimetric detection system to detect TX-A2 antigen targets in samples. The ELISA Kit is designed to detect native, not recombinant, TX-A2. Appropriate sample types may include undiluted body fluids and/or tissue homogenates, secretions. Quality control assays assessing reproducibility identified the intra-assay CV (%) and inter-assay CV(%).

NCBI Summary for TX-A2
This gene encodes a member of the G protein-coupled receptor family. The protein interacts with thromboxane A2 to induce platelet aggregation and regulate hemostasis. A mutation in this gene results in a bleeding disorder. Multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Oct 2009]
UniProt Comments for TX-A2
TXA2-R: Receptor for thromboxane A2 (TXA2), a potent stimulator of platelet aggregation. The activity of this receptor is mediated by a G-protein that activates a phosphatidylinositol-calcium second messenger system. In the kidney, the binding of TXA2 to glomerular TP receptors causes intense vasoconstriction. Activates phospholipase C. Isoform 1 activates adenylyl cyclase. Isoform 2 inhibits adenylyl cyclase. Defects in TBXA2R are the cause of susceptibility to bleeding disorder platelet-type 13 (BDPLT13). BDPLT13 is a disorder characterized by reduced platelet aggregation and a tendency to mild mucocutaneous bleeding. Belongs to the G-protein coupled receptor 1 family. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.
