Coagulation Factor XI (F11) Mouse Recombinant Protein

For Research Use Only. Not for use in diagnostic procedures. Catalog #: MBS1377802

This gene encodes coagulation factor XI of the blood coagulation cascade. This protein is present in plasma as a zymogen, which is a unique plasma coagulation enzyme because it exists as a homodimer consisting of two identical polypeptide chains linked by… More details

NCBI Summary for F11

This gene encodes a glycoprotein coagulation factor that plays an important role in intrinsic pathway of blood coagulation and hemostasis. The encoded protein is an inactive zymogen that can be activated by coagulation factor XIIa, thrombin or factor XIa to generate active factor XIa protease. Mice lacking the encoded protein display a survival advantage during peritoneal sepsis and resist inflammation and bacterial accumulation upon infection with Listeria. [provided by RefSeq, Apr 2015]

UniProt Comments for F11

Factor XI triggers the middle phase of the intrinsic pathway of blood coagulation by activating factor IX.
