R-Spondin-1 (RSPO1) Human Active Protein

For Research Use Only. Not for use in diagnostic procedures. Catalog #: MBS141446

Introduction: R-Spondin-1 (Rspo1) is a part of the Rspondin family. Rspo1 plays a role as an activator of the canonical Wnt signaling pathway by acting as a ligand for LGR4-6 receptors. Rspo1 induces the onset of crypt cell proliferation and increases… More details

Active Protein Note
Protein activity can be an ambiguous term. Please refer to the data sheet or inquire with Technical Support to determine the definition of activity for this product.
Solubility
It is recommended to reconstitute the lyophilized RSPO1in sterile 18Momega-cm H2O not less than 100ug/ml, which can then be further diluted to other aqueous solutions.
Biological Activity
The ED50, as calculated by the Luciferase induction in HEK-293 STF cells in the presence of Murine Wnt-3a is 24.7ng/ml corresponding to a specific activity of 4.0 x 10^4 units/mg.

Other Notes

Small volumes of RSPO1 active protein vial(s) may occasionally become entrapped in the seal of the product vial during shipment and storage. If necessary, briefly centrifuge the vial on a tabletop centrifuge to dislodge any liquid in the container`s cap. Certain products may require to ship with dry ice and additional dry ice fee may apply.

UniProt Comments for RSPO1

R-spondin-1: Activator of the beta-catenin signaling cascade, leading to TCF-dependent gene activation. Acts both in the canonical Wnt/beta-catenin-dependent pathway and in non-canonical Wnt signaling pathway, probably by acting as an inhibitor of ZNRF3, an important regulator of the Wnt signaling pathway. Acts as a ligand for frizzled FZD8 and LRP6. May negatively regulate the TGF-beta pathway. Has a essential roles in ovary determination. Defects in RSPO1 are the cause of palmoplantar keratoderma with squamous cell carcinoma of skin and sex reversal (PKKSCC). This recessive syndrome is characterized by XX (female to male) SRY-independent sex reversal, palmoplantar hyperkeratosis and predisposition to squamous cell carcinoma of the skin. Belongs to the R-spondin family. 3 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.
