Form/Format
Filtered (0.2 um) and lyophilized from a concentrated (1mg/ml) solution in 1xPBS, pH7.4.
Sterile Filtered White lyophilized (freeze-dried) powder.
Purity/Purification
Greater than 95.0% as determined by: (a) Analysis by RP-HPLC. (b) Analysis by SDS-PAGE.
Preparation and Storage
Lyophilized Interleukin-7 although stable at room temperature for 3 weeks, should be stored desiccated below -18 degree C. Upon reconstitution IL7 should be stored at 4 degree C between 2-7 days and for future use below -18 degree C.For long term storage it is recommended to add a carrier protein (0.1% HSA or BSA).Please prevent freeze-thaw cycles.
Molecular Weight
17,727 Da
3D Structure
ModBase 3D Structure for P10168
Active Protein Note
Protein activity can be an ambiguous term. Please refer to the data sheet or inquire with Technical Support to determine the definition of activity for this product.
Solubility
It is recommended to reconstitute the lyophilized Interleukin 7 in sterile 18M Omega -cm H2O not less than 100 ug/ml, which can then be further diluted to other aqueous solutions.
Protein Content
Protein quantitation was carried out by two independent methods:1. UV spectroscopy at 280 nm using the absorbency value of 0.48 as the extinction coefficient for a 0.1% (1mg/ml) solution. This value is calculated by the PC GENE computer analysis program of protein sequences (IntelliGenetics). 2. Analysis by RP-HPLC, using a standard solution of IL-7 as a Reference Standard.
Biological Activity
The ED50 as determined by the dose-dependant stimulation of murine 2E8 cells is < 0.2ng/ml, corresponding to a Specific Activity of 5,000,000 units/mg.

Other Notes

Small volumes of mIL 7 active protein vial(s) may occasionally become entrapped in the seal of the product vial during shipment and storage. If necessary, briefly centrifuge the vial on a tabletop centrifuge to dislodge any liquid in the container`s cap. Certain products may require to ship with dry ice and additional dry ice fee may apply.

NCBI Summary for mIL 7

The protein encoded by this gene is a hematopoietic growth factor important for B and T cell development. Alternative splicing results in several transcript variants encoding different isoforms. [provided by RefSeq, Sep 2015]

UniProt Comments for mIL 7

IL7: Hematopoietic growth factor capable of stimulating the proliferation of lymphoid progenitors. It is important for proliferation during certain stages of B-cell maturation. Belongs to the IL-7/IL-9 family. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Protein type: Cell cycle regulation; Secreted, signal peptide; Cell development/differentiation; Cytokine; Secreted; Apoptosis

Cellular Component: extracellular space; extracellular region

Molecular Function: interleukin-7 receptor binding; growth factor activity; hematopoietin/interferon-class (D200-domain) cytokine receptor binding; cytokine activity
